We had a professional painter and he used Benjamin Moore paints.

+1  I will not use another brand... okay I used Ralph L in our bedroom, but only because BM could give an exact colour match.

I agree with others that Behr paint is crap.  CIL isn't too bad but I actually prefer BeautiTone by Home Hardware. It was recommended to me by a pro painter and I used it in my parent's main bath and will only be buying that for our new house

Amanda, the Home Depot sells CIL smart paint - it's got a primer built in, and is a 1 coat paint.

We used it in the kitchen (semi gloss) and eggshell in all the other rooms. You can SCRUB it and the paint goes nowhere, but washable on the tile surfaces, where we dripped a bit LOL

It's stood up to your bro's grubby fingers when he gets home, and goes on really nice.

We went to Home Depot and someone recommended we try the CIL Smart paint too! The only thing is this weekend it was 30% off and now it's not, I will definitely have a hard time talking Vince into THAT now LOL

Hopefully it goes on sale again before we close!

It's still only about $40/can, one can did our living room (one coat!) So it SAVES you money, buying 2 $30 cans...

Technically, Vince OWES you $20, using the smart paint LOL

LOL so true.

I went to the Benjamin Moore store to compare and I have to say, I didn't find their color selections to be very... er... selective! LOL

I think we may end up going with Ralph Lauren since I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Burlap and Antique Brown and it's 38.00 a gallon.

How did the Ralph Lauren hold up ladies??? I'M COUNTING ON YOU!!!

We chose RL's "chocolate souffle" for our kitchen, but got it colour matched in Benjamin Moore.

You can always try the colours you mentioned matched in whatever brand you go with. I just know Benjamin Moore can do it.

Has anyone had any experience with Mythic paint? I didn't realize that once paint was dry it would off gas for years, and I think I'd rather have a more eco-friendly paint. I think the Aura is overpriced for it's claims, most of the VOCs are added at tinting and so the low VOC claim is a bit moot since it's measured before. Mythic has no VOC paint and tint as well as being free from toxins and carcinogens.

Has anyone used it? It's cheaper than Aura and seems better from what I've read! www.mythicpaint.com

My friend paints houses for a living and he told me that Behr paint is fine, but if you ever want to touch up or paint another wall the same colour, the paint will never look the same due to the mixing.

We get our paint from General Paint and love it. Better off going to specialty store that only deals in paint (General Paint, Benjamin Moore) because that's all they do all day is consult/mix paint. Not like Home Depot where you have some 16 year old kid mixing your paint.

They're all the same though, the proportion of colour is programmed in to a computer, and the computer tells the system how much of each tint to add....

We did it, and it was everything I imagined it would be!
