We have never been anywhere warm. I've never been on a jet, and neither has FH. We want to go somewhere warm, all inclusive, and clean. Where should we go? I think because we will be easily pleased, we'll do last minute. Just wondering if anyone has done this, or if there is a plan to the madness. Where do you recommend going???

Booking last minute is great! Sometimes you can get a really great deal.

I suggest waiting until at least a month before you want to go away to book... Sometimes if you wait too long, prices sky rocket!! And also too, you have a bit more of an option--more to choose from.  (As if choosing is an easy thing hee!! )

Other then that, enjoy your trip!

My parents go to an all inclusive once or twice a year and they always wait until last minute (like one month to two weeks before). They just book a certain week off in advance and go wherever is cheap during that week.

Last year (in January) they went for two weeks in Domincan Republic .. and got it for $600 per person, per week! Now thats just ridiculously sweet

GoODLUCK!

we went 3 weeks before we are leaving tell them we want somewhere warm , all inclusive and 4 stars and better and they gave us the best deals to choose from ... its good if you arent picky about WHERE you go. (I would tell them 4stars or better though)

We usually book our vacations a month or so before leaving.  Like the PP said, we book the time off work so we know when we're going, and start watching prices and researching hotels, etc.  Then, when a great deal comes up, we can jump on it cause we've already done our homework.

I've been to Puerto Vallarta twice and Cancun once (for our honeymoon).  I liked PV and Cancun for different reasons, but I could go back to PV again and again.  I stayed at Dreams Resort the first time (FANTASTIC beach) and the Riu Jalisco the 2nd time.  Riu is an awesome chain (we chose a Riu for our honeymoon), and the Riu Jalisco's location is great.  There's a neat little fishing village nearby called Bucerias that is amazing.  AND PV is pretty reasonable compared to other Mexican resorts

Live. Love. Laugh.

I"ve always done last minute on selloffvacations.com.  If you're not picky about where you go then wait until apprx. 2 weeks before and pick something.

I always recommend 4 or 5 star, and I read the reviews on tripadvisor (keeping in mind that these people may not have the same lifestyle and taste as you)

If you have never been anywhere south before then it really doesn't matter what you pick, its going ot br great no matter what.  Well ok not exactly, are you a nightlife kinda person cause that may change things.  I suggest making a list of the top 5 things, in order, of what you want out of your vacation ie good nightlife, good restaurants, good beach....

My favorite places to visit were Varadero and Puerto Vallarta.  This is because nightlife is important to me, not necessarily clubbing, but I want to be able to at least walk/cab to a cafe, bar, lounge, somthing to pass the hours away and enjoy the weather.  On nice nights even here in T.O I like to walk to Starbucks and sip coffee on the patio till 2 am, vacations are the same for me.

If all you want is to get away and relax pick any country with a 4 or 5 star resort and go.  Next year try another country lol.  That's what I did when I started.  You start learning what you like and don't like as you go.
