| I'm a little confused by the documents needed. Can I just send everything to the cuban consulate and they can do the translation and notarization? Or do I have to pay $85 for a lawyer to take 5 minutes to notarize our birth certificates and my divorce certificates? What did you ladies do?

| I believe you have to get everything notarized yourself. I am not getting married in cuba but jamaica and I needed a long copy of my birth certificate as well as my passport notarized. I am not sure where you would get the translation though.

| We're getting married in Cuba and as far as I'm aware, the only thing that has to be translated and notarized are divorce papers. Otherwise they just need a photocopy of your passports and birth certificate in advance and bring the originals down with you. This is what we were told by our rep. anyways, so I'm not sure if its a resort thing and they take care of notarizing things for us as a service or if that's all that really is needed to get married in Cuba.

| Which resort are you getting married at? For us, we just had to fill out a form that our coordinator emailed me (parents full names, our full names, that sort of thing) and fax that and copies of our passports (and maybe our birth certificates, I can't remember now). When we got there, I don't even think they looked at our actual passports for any wedding stuff. Getting married in Cuba is so easy - it's part of why we picked it!

| We're getting married at the Barcelo Marina Palace. Sandra already sent us the papers, but aren't there forms that need to be sent to the consulate here in Canada?

| I'm getting married at Playa Pesquero...I just had to fax her all info....name, ages, contact info, witness, etc. otherwise all I had to bring was our passport not even the birth certificate...but it says on the paper that if your a divorcee...you'll need the -divorce status certificate and documents should be translated in original language and spanish and should be legalized in the cuban consulate here in canada.... I know you probably know those info anyway.... I hope this help...I don't know why different resort has it's own way...it's the same country and as far as I know all wedding certificate will be legalized in a canadian consulate in havana anyway... Good Luck....also that reminds me I have to fax those papers

GoneSalsa (5/1/2008) We're getting married at the Barcelo Marina Palace. Sandra already sent us the papers, but aren't there forms that need to be sent to the consulate here in Canada?Yay, you picked the BMP! You are going to have an awesome wedding! The photographer is good, but a little crazy. Are you getting married on the beach or in the gazebo? Seriously, I'm so excited for you! Neither of us were divorced, so we didn't have to send anything to anyone here. I'd double check with Sandra, she's pretty on the ball about the requirements. Then you send back the paperwork that Sandra sent you, and then they deal with sending it all in and getting it stamped by the Canadian Consulate in Cuba. It takes about 2-3 months to get your marriage certificate mailed to you in Canada.

| I want to get married on the beach...weather permitting. People complain about the mosquitos and the wind at this resort. How did you find it? Also, which restaurant did you have your dinner at?
