Hello Ladies, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas to give to the parents at the rehersal dinner. I am making them a scrapbook with all the pictures after the wedding, but I still need something to give to them prior to. Any ideas?? Thank you in advance!

We did personalized handkerchiefs that we gave to them at the rehearsal dinner, with a sweet poem (that we found online and just changed a tiny bit to personalize) - all our parents loved them and were nearly in tears.
We also gave them photobooks of the wedding, afterwards

| FH and I are giving our parents a night away as a thank you gift at our engagement party. Shopper's has all those gift cards for hotels and stuff so we're going to use one of those, or pick another hotel in Toronto. It sounds expensive but my parents are paying for the engagement party, as well as half the wedding, and FH's parents are helping as well. So compared to what they are doing, it's just a small thank you. Spa days for mom are always good too, or a gift card at a nice restaurant.

| I had never really thought of this at all.... my first instinct when reading was to give them nothing! My parents have nothing they need or want material wise. They buy themselves anythign they want and dont need stuff for the sake of stuff, then one prior poster had a great idea. the night out thing. Perhaps get my parents some tickets to a show. either just the show or the show and a hotel in TO or something... though i think if i spent that much my mom would yell at me. she wants me to save as much money as possible i think so i can get a house. His parents.... ill have to have FSIL get us a gift card for a salon that FMIL likes in Winnipeg cause I doubt we will be out there before the wedding so I can get one. and for FFIL... I have no idea.... FH can pick that. maybe computer stuffs.... Other than that I was going to offer both of them if they wanted a Photo album I would buy it. I dont know if I am going to make one - Martha Stewart Crafts has a book and photo corners I would LOVE to use so I might make my own though it will still be expensive. or if I would get one from my Photographer... but then I dont have a photographer yet so who knows!
Long term engagment = Long term stress!!!!!

| We gave each couple (both sets of parents are divorced and have new partners) a gift basket. We included a nice bottle of wine that had a story (special dates, types etc etc). Our decorator/florist did them up for us and delivered them to the reherasal party. We included family portraits in our photo session and then framed them as Christmas presents. Went over wonderfully!
