I know there's been bad publicity because of the Natalee Holloway case, but I've been to most of the popular vacation islands and Aruba is still the safest. What happened to Natalee happens every day somewhere in Canada and the States. Aruba has the best beaches, restaurants, activities, nightlife, hotels.....you just can't go wrong. My recommendation is to stay somewhere on Palm Beach, the Marriott, the Hyatt, the Raddison....everything you want is in that area in walking distance. PM me if you want to know anything else.

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

What about Belize? My friend honeymooned down there a couple years ago and she still raves about it! She said the beaches were gorgeous, and it wasn't as busy as most of the carribean destinations, and it might only be an extra hour or 2 of flight...

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

What about California? The flight is only about 3 or 4 hours long! And there are alot of different places you can go, like Palm Springs (desert), Hollywood, Malibu, Long Beach, San Francisco, San Jose, even Lake Tahoe...and obviously L.A. You can stay in a high class hotel, or even a vacation home rental... Just a suggestion!

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

What about Bermuda? I've been to Bermuda on vacation and on business, it is a beautiful spot and the hotels are just stunning. It is a very luxurious island. You won't find any deals though as they do that on purpose so that they can attract only a certain type of visitor. The Fairmont Southhampton Princess is a gorgeous hotel... The plane ride from Toronto is only 3 or 4 hrs if I remember correctly.:)

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

Fascha, Bora Bora is a lot further than 10 hours. Given that both Fh and I are not very comfortable on planes, I would prefer something a little closer.

Any suggestions?

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

I've done a good deal of travelling in my day and I prefer to go to places that are too heavily trampled on by tourists. My advice is to stay clear of Costa Del Sol or anywhere in Spain unless your willing to do some research and find someplace away from the drunken, loud, obnoxious, mostly English tourists. Finding romantics spots are difficult there. Try Cinque Terre or the Amalfi Coast in Italy, it's LUSH! I just got back from Croatia yesterday and going in the off season there, (April or September) is just the best!! There were hardly any other tourists there really and everything was fantastic! It might go over your allocated flight hours, but I hightly recommend. Also, (and this might be too far to fly to as well) give a thought to Sharm el Sheik in the Sinai...You won't find a more beautiful out of the way spot to relax with just the two of you. Places like the Canary Islands or Greek Islands and such are over touristed by 18 year olds in teeny tiny skirts barfing alcho-pops outside your hotel all night...so beware! But if you do your research there are some quiet gems of spots but you gotta hunt for them. That's my thoughts anyway.

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

What about Turks & Caicos or Anguilla or St. Barts?

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

If you want beaches, I suggest Kauai or Tahiti. But if you want beach and culture, Greece is nice.

RE: NEED HELP WITH HONEYMOON

Bella... LOL:P

FH and I are not crazy about plane's therefore long flights are not an option. I would say 10 is MAX. We are not looking to go to Mexico, St. Lucia, Aruba, Cuba, Dominican. We would like the caribbean or somewhere hot with beaches!! LOL We want this to be special so we have allocated a good chunk of $$$$ towards honeymoon. We basically do not want the most common spots as listed above. Anyone have any suggestions???

P.S. Sorry for being so particular. LOL:D
