If you could get me this information, I would be very greatful.

What is the average price anyway, I haven't ever had a wedding dress altered?

RE: Can Anyone Recommend a Seamstress in Downtown Toronto?

Oh shoot, i don't have my book here. You;ll have to post me a message so I'll remember.. Or better yet, fwd me your email and I can email it to you tonight from home.

Her name is Amy. She does all gowns, you;ll see her apartment full of gowns. She had to shortened my dress, take it in the waist (she had to put a garter to hold it up, cause i'm too tiny), she had to take in the bust area and she even put bra cups and the bustle.

Depending on your dress, her price is average. You pay cash. If you pay by cheque, she wants it before you pick up the dress.

RE: Can Anyone Recommend a Seamstress in Downtown Toronto?

Sure, I am at Parliament-Bloor, that is just a hop skip and a jump from my place. Feel free to send a private message if you would rather not post her number/email/website or just type it here. May I ask what she did to your gown? I am curious as I have crystals and lace on the bodice that has to be taken in, plus there is lace on the bottom where it needs to the shortened, (and a fixed crinoline that has to be shortened too) that either has to be removed and resown or shortened from the waist. Why do they always make gowns so long?

RE: Can Anyone Recommend a Seamstress in Downtown Toronto?

I got mine done from this woman on Pape and Cosburn. She was recommended by the bridal shop where I got my dress from. (Becker's) I am the same as you too, my dress was size 8 and needed to be taken in. She does it from her apartment. If you're interested, let me know.

Can Anyone Recommend a Seamstress in Downtown Toronto?

Hi,

My dress is size 8 and I am size 6, plus it is about 4-5 inches too long and would like talk to someone who can make suggestion what to do with a semi-cathederal train. Does anyone know of someone who either:

a) Is willing to work with gowns not purchased in their shop

b) Has experience designing/making or just working with wedding gowns?

Don't know where to start, never been to a bridal shop in my life! :hehe:
