*smiles* Don't worry MEB, it will be fantastic!!! Everyone is just so happy to see you and your belly - and gush over all things baby.
I did worry about that too at first but it all went so smooth. It literally felt like the shower was only 10 mins long instead of 3 hours! It flew by!

And congrats on only 10 weeks to go! How freaking exciting!!!!!! :D

Tis the season for baby showers! LOL Mine went great! Baby was very spoiled...Here's a pic of my beautiful cake!!

We are doing the prenatal classes too - but find nothing new in them and are kinda bored - we do a lot of research ourselves and find the class is all pretty basic? We learned last night that if you put your finger in your baby's hand, it will clench it....uhhh....yes ok thanks! LOL Stuff like that. We did learn some labor things like a tense labor vs. a relaxed one and how it helps pain wise to be relaxed.. but again, it all seemed pretty common sense. We aren't sure if we are going back for the last 2 classes...we'll see!

I am now off work until the birth - at 27 weeks pregnant - yikes, this is going to be a long haul. But the hip is still messed up. And physio doesn't think they can really "fix it" as so many things they can't do while you are pg! (MRI, xrays, some manipulations, etc) I can barely walk without limping - so there will be no xmas shopping for me unless I go in a wheelchair. So depressing. But hey, I have a beautifully healthy baby inside...that's what counts!

Glad to hear you all are doing well too and looking forward to your upcoming showers!!! It's great to see tons of baby stuff in your home! Makes it feel SO much more "real" LOL !!!! :P

I didnt find the videos as bad as what people make them out to be actually! Neither did DH!

I mostly can't sleep at night because of the dryness in the air. I just bought a humidifier today, I will try it out tonight.

I also get really uncomfortable and toss and turn... I have the snoogle too! I find myself waking up on my back a lit, so then I try and get comfortable again on my side. Haven't had an undisturbed night's sleep in a while now! And I really really do love my sleep... I think that is going to be the hardest thing when the baby comes!

LOL at Dh staring at the wall during the videos!!

We start ours next week (the lady was mad that I registered so late.. apparently you're supposed to start them around week 26. I'm only week 30 - but she kept saying : you could go into labour before the class is done - the class is 4 weeks... I doubt I'll be delivering before week 34!)

I'm sure DH won't be too keen on the videos either. I'm actually afraid of him seeing those videos and getting a little freaked out. I don't want him to look at me different, and after seeing a baby coming a noonie, I'm sure he'll never see my happy place the same again!

Another new thing this week : I can't cross my legs anymore. *le sigh* I know it's bad for my veins... but it's so darn comfy!

Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I can't seem to get comfy in bed anymore.... even WITH the snoogle.

hey ladies :-) Just wondering how everyone is doing? I went to OB yesterday and everything is looking good I only gained one pound since last visit so she was happy with me. Baby girl is super active and makes me giggle. The drive to work is getting worse with this snow I've changed my last day of work to Dec 12 so I'll have a good month and a bit to relax/shop/cook and decorate. My crib bedding finally arrived yesterday so I'm off to home depot tonight to colour match the paint. So excited to finally start on her room. My baby shower is this Sunday at my parents house....... can't wait. I went out and bought a bunch of Star Cookie Cutters for a favour and I've printed out tags to attach thats say " The baby shower was fun and so wonderfully sweet, Thank you for coming-It was such a treat! Love Diane & Her Little Shining Star" I also attached a cookie recipe.

DH and I started prenatal class 2 wks ago. I love it! DH not so much when the videos come on he usually just stares at the wall....lol

Hey ladies!

My shower is on Dec 7, and is also at my house! I don't mind at all, I actually suggested it! It's in a good location for everyone to come and I won't have to carry all the stuff back home afterwards.

I had my glucose testing a couple weeks back, and it wasn't as bad as I thought, just very very sweet! felt really thirsty afterwards, and I wanted water so badly! I kept my mind of it by reading a good book :)

We're almost done our prenatal classes, just one more left next week! We did it early because December and January are just too busy.

Anyone else been to any prenatal classes yet?

I cant' say that I have any hip baby, but I have really bad back aches (but I'm sure I'm not the only one) it just really sucks ;)

Hey Ladies!
I did the glucose test on Fri -- at first I was like yum!!! then towards the end I felt kinda icky from drinking it...so should get the results soon. We had our 26 week ultrasound just moments ago -- to check to see if my placenta moved -- It did!!!!! She couldn't "officially" tell me but she showed me where my placenta was and where my cervix opening was --and mine is 6 inches away! (if it's 2 inches away it's classified as previa)
YIPPIE!!! Baby girl is double confirmed -- she is 2lbs -- growing EXACTLY on target -- everything healthy and wonderful...we are so in love!!!! And she's super, super, super active!!! Tech has laughing as she was trying to stand on her head and do somersaults!!!

Does or has anyone had any problems with hip pain?? On Sunday we got back from walking the dog (15 min walk down the street, nothing strenuous) came back and I was kinda limping. Everyone told me "sciatica!!" but pain doesn't radiate to my legs...saw my OB on Thurs -- said it's my hip JOINT that is the problem -- could be too laxed... sending me for further investigation with a physio assessment on Tues... I can barely walk without limping and if I sneeze, I feel like crying it hurts so bad. This sucks!!!! He said it might be from baby putting pressure on my body frame -- mainly hips that take the brunt of the weight -- as I am such a tiny frame (but also am kinda tired of all docs blaming every pain u have on being "tiny"!)

My baby shower is this Sun -- super excited -- sad about not being able to really walk -- but good in a way -- will force me to sit and RELAX!!!!!! :P

I had my glucose test on the 12th and I agree it did taste like orange crush, but for some reason I found mine to be extra fizzy, every time I took a sip I burped LOL, I also had my Dr. appointment that day and baby had hiccups :D it was soooo cute, I didn't feel it yet just heard it.

My next appointment is for my RHogam shot :( not looking forward to that one hopefully it doesn't hurt as much.

This weekend we're going furniture shopping woohoo I can't wait for that, we'll be starting on the nursery soon yay very exciting.

Hope everyone is feeling good and growing nicely.

great u/s johnston. I too enjoyed the orange crush. My doc's appt was on Nov 4th and it was like 20 degrees outside that day. The clinic was warm so that 'pop' went down great. Anywas, you look awesome!

Let's try this again, having some problems posting for some reason!

Us at 25 weeks 1day!

I finally got around the adding a picture. My husband is gone back to Korea to visit his family for 2 weeks so Im finding loads of time for the computer! haha...This was us at 25 weeks 1 day....just last week actually! I am feeling great, and so far 22 lbs, so I am crossing my fingers that it doest creep up too much higher.

I also got my GDS test results back and all is great! I wouldn't mind going again because the funny thing is the only craving Ive had all pregnancy was Orange CRUSH, and like the last post said it tasted like Orange Crush to me! haha....

Here's our little one at 25 weeks as well! I have felt since day 1 its a boy, but we have no idea....have to wait til Feb I guess!

Went for my glucose/diabetes testing today. I had heard horrible things about the sugar drink you have to have. I actually really it! It tasted just like Orange Crush! :D Guess I'll get my results as my next Dr's appt on the 19th. I also have to go to the Dr's every second week now. Bah.....it's a long drive for me.

Oh! And my new amusement is sitting for hours on the couch watching my belly move around. Too cool! :w00t:

I also bought my travel system this weekend. It was regular $389 on sale for $289!

We are putting the nursery together tomorrow so I am excited to do that.

Beechnut - hopefully your placenta moved! I went for my u/s last week (@30w) and mine had moved. The tech said that most do move.

MEB - Don't stress about the shower, you can't control what people do or say!

Hey everyone. Last doc visit was a few days ago and everything continues to be on point. Hearing our babe's heartbeat never gets old. I am excited to start preparing for the new baby although last year I had everything ready months in advanced, it being my first. This time around I'm kinda taking my time. I have decided that I would prefer a meet 'n greet with my family and friends after the baby is born rather then the usual baby shower as I already had one just last year and I would politely decline guests to bring a gift as their presence will be gift enough. Over the past 4 yrs every yr there's been a new milestone for us - dh and I got engaged, married, new home, new baby so there've been a lot of gifts that we've received as a result of each milestone and now it just needs to stop, lol.

hope all is well with the growing bellies.

My baby shower is next weekend! I'll be 27 weeks...we are doing it early as we can't have it too close to xmas...and I wanted to have it before baby is born... can't wait!!! My MIL is throwing it and MEB -- it's at my house too! She was going to do it at hers but due to lack of space...and that I just moved into a large home -- she asked if we can hold it at mine -- one huge benefit is that I don't have to lug anything home afterwards!!! LOL :P Plus, family who hasn't got to see my new house yet, will get to see it...and the baby's room...so I'm excited for Sunday!!!!!! :D

Feeling well - the vaginal pressure is coming back more and more -- we go for a repeat ultrasound on Friday to check the placenta to see if my previa has cleared up, is the same, or has gotten worse -- keep your fingers crossed for me ladies -- that it will be gone and I won't need a scheduled c-section!

Congrats MEB on being down to 1 dicelctin!!! how awesome!

and how is everyone else feeling???

We just got our crib & dresser/change table combo unit on Friday and set it up on Sat!!!! We bought her crib mattress on Sun and put all her bedding in it and hung her curtains. It's so exciting to see it all set up now and it makes it feel even more real....WOW!!!!!!! :) Will post a pic when we are finished painting it! :)

I was thinking about going to the babytime show but it seems like quite the trek for me I'm in Bradford and no one can come with me.

Just a FYI Linen N Things is going out of business. I went and bought one of those wall decal stickers for above the little girls crib. "I see the moon, The moon sees me, God Bless the moon, God bless me" They had some other cute ones but this one made me melt...lol I think it was $19

Today I'm going to Michaels to buy some letters and pegs to spell her name out. We have decided she will be........................ Rylie Elle Osborne :)

I'm still waiting on my new crib bedding to arrive it was on backorder. I can't wait to get it so I can pick my paint out. Here is a pic if some of you never saw it. I wanted something more girly insead of the Jungle bedding I got from Coworker. Anyone know where I can get a pink rug like the one in the pic???

Today we had our first birthing class! We are starting early because December is just way too busy for us, and I didn't want to do it in January due to weather conditions, and I may just not have the energy then!

Looking forward to the Babytime show this weekend, I'm going Friday. Anyone here from our group going?

My lower back has become my enemy. The massager dh bought for me really comes in handy but every now and then I fantasize of a steam roller going across my back and cracking the hell out of it. Has anyone heard of the Low Back Clinic? I saw it advertise on Omni and checked out their website.

Snowydi -- your doc said that 25 pounds is too much? I'm due on the 30th of January and I've gained 23... I keep worrying that it's too much, but I haven't changed my eating habits, so I guess that's just what my body needs to gain.

I'm having trouble sleeping also. And the backaches, ugh. I just can't get comfy in bed.

My hubby won't let me use a heating pad or massaging pad for my back, he says the one we have uses an magnetic field to heat, and that could be dangerous for baby... so I'm soaking in the tub ALOT! I miss being able to take HOT baths.

I finally got into to meet with my OB for the 1st time today. She is very nice :-) She took a closer look at all my ultrasounds and was able to finalize my due date to Jan 29th not the 9th like my family doc predicted which sucks cause I really really don't want to stay at work through december driving down the stupid 400! I got told that I should try and not gain anymore weight.....lol so far 25lbs! ha ha yeah right! I told her I would try to manage what I eat but who am I kidding I'm a hoover vaccum right now.

Anyone start prenatal classes yet? We start Nov 11th I'm really looking forward to them. DH actually sat down with me last night and watched 2 episodes of Baby Story on TLC usually he runs from the room when I watch it but I guess it is slowly sinking in that hes going to be a daddy![/quote]

Wow 20 days difference for your due date that's quite a lot I would think. That sucks that your drive will be longer in winter, but if it's such a long drive you should go on mat leave early either way, you don't want to start having contractions while driving home :w00t:

I'm still having back pains daily, I finally bought a messager cushion, I got the Obusform massage and heater, it's nice but honestly doesn't help too much at work if I sit too long, but it is a little soothing. Other then that I'm feeling good.

We start are prenatal classes Nov. 5th and on the 12th I have my Glucose test, yummy can't wait for that sweet juice *Blah* hopefully it won't be that bad. Has anyone done their glucose test yet?

Anyone going to the Babytime show next weekend in Toronto?

I love a Baby Story too! :) I have been putting it on and DH has been watching it too...usually he just sighs and leaves the room too -- but now he's into watching it more and more. Mind you, some of the labour's totally freak him out -- the screaming moms! LOL

I am feeling pretty good as well -- same as you snowy -- and others I am sure -- more tired and harder to sleep at night. Peeing a ton. Lots of discharge. Fun!

I have gained 10lbs so far and see my OB on Friday for our 6 month check up. The vaginal pressure is coming back more each day...so we'll see how long I can last at work.

I have been calling EI for 2 days now talking to different people (as they ALL tell you a different answer!!!) for sick leave and how it affects your mat leave rate for the year. (my work only pays me 70% of my wage when off on sick leave, so this would lower my income, thus lowering my mat leave for the year!) -- But good news -- I got 3 solid answers saying that if you have a "wage loss" from sickness or injury, then EI will add 1 week for each week you are off sick (so they normally calculate your EI rate on the last 26 weeks worked...if you had 15 weeks off sick, which is the max, they would not count the weeks you were off sick and making less money) Great news!!!

EI is so annoying though -- I had different people telling me different answers so I kept calling back until I got 3 consecutive "same" answers. Sigh.

Costco had them on sale and it came with a car adaptor! We just returned from our drive to the East coast and boy did that come in handy. You can strap it to a chair, you can put it on the floor and the rotating shiatsu balls work your feet. Lie down and let it massage your neck. Ahhhh ...... it's great!

I tried to do a search at the Costco website but they don't have the model I bought. GNC store sells them but they were pricey and I didn't see them include the car adaptor.

Ah yes that wonderful drive home, for me too it's really brutal, I think it's the worst part of the day, I can manage at work since I can get up whenever I want but in the car it's hard even to change positions slightly. Yes I definitley agree with that one! And the baby kicks make it all feel better :)

I find if I get up and just do some streches every hr or take a quick walk around building it helps as well. The drive home is the big killer for me in traffic! grrrr can't stand it. Sometimes I wonder why I wanted a baby so badly with all the crappy stuff we go through then she kicks me......and it melts my heart.

Mandz I love your crib is looks great!

We pretty much picked our crib and change table, but we'll wait til about end of November to purchase.

snowydi - you're so lucky to be getting off work already, I'm jealous. I gave my boss my dates and my last day is Jan. 23rd 2 weeks before I'm due but I might go a week earlier, I HATE my work right now, especially today they P*SSED me off (sorry for the vent).

Anyone else have back aches? (bad ones) I can't sit at work anymore, my back is killing me I can't find a comfortable position. I have a back pillow but it's not helping that much, I have to stand and walk around every few minutes. I have to buy a warming pad I think.

Any recommendations for back ache?
