Just wondering how everyone is doing?? Summer has been tuff to stay on course with the debt reduction... and now we have to finish our bathroom reno... babies are looking a little farther off. my parents surprised my sister and I last week and gave us the cash that they made at our family moving sale... so at least that will help with the reno. and my student loan is under 10,000!!! YEPPIE!!!! i need it to be down to about 8,000 to combine it with my line of credit when we start TTC.... so i guess while it might not feel like it... that must be progress. But is it way to SLOW for me...lolol.

To keep busy i am starting to paint my office/scrapbooking room... well, i am starting to think about it... i really haven't taken any real action..lol.

That's so cute that you are buying things already! I thought about buying things a few times, but then I think that my FH will think I'm batty and I can't scare him off yet b/c we won't be tying the knot until September.[/quote]

I haven't really bought anything. What i have are some handme downs from friends. Well, and a killer winnie the pooh lamp and gund stuffed pooh that i got at a yard sale in Orangville this spring when i was visiting. I have been collecting royal daulton winnie the poohs for years (have about 12 of them)... they will be displayed in my nursey when i finally get one. I didn't start collecting them for that purpose but i think that they will look amazing!

so, it seems that babies are popping up all over the place these days. DH went to work today and another member announced that they are having a baby too.

So that makes three people at DH's detachment that are preggo. We are being surrounded!! lol. We have one friend due in January and two (One of my BF's) due in February!! How can a girl not have baby on the brain, with all this good news going around?!!:D

Okay, so i had an fun night on friday. My Pregger friend and i went to a mutal friends house, and she got to go through our mutal friends lot of baby and mat clothes. Mutal friend has 4 boys!! Well, i left with the cutest outfit. (in my opinion anyway. My friend left with a huge bag of cute things)

At christmas time we went shopping, we were looking for something speical for her newborn to wear on christmas. it took the whole day but i finally convinced her to spring for the red cable knit gap sleeper. IT WAS SOOO CUTE! well, my friend has saved it for me... and gave it to me the other night. i was THRILLED!! even DH loved it!

So, that got me wondering... how many of us have a small collection of baby things?? come on... own up!! i have a ton of friends that have been preggo in the past few years and i always seem to get some item from them... they always say the same thing when they pass it on... oh, you will need it soon!! lol:P

being shelfish is great and all... but i cannot help but think that when we our out with our friends and their families that were are missing out on something. With in our group of friends here in town... there are only 2 couples left with out kids... we are becoming out numbered!!!

Congrats on the house and the wedding, MissDish! It was May 31st and still we see no wedding pics!

That's a good point you bring up, Smurf. It's nice to be able to be completely selfish at times, especially under your circumstance.

DH and I will most definitely have to wait because of school, as I said before. At times I am glad that we have to since it will give us more time to be selfish newlyweds! I think if I decided not to go back to school and stay in my FT job, I'd want to start now out of lack of patience. It's just such an exciting stage in life! But instead, I will just live vicariously through the ladies on here until we're ready. :D

I'm a lurker!

We have talked about waiting till at least 1 year of marriage before having a baby but there are days where I don't want to wait.

We just bought the house and that was our main excuse - had to have a house first. I'd like to start trying in the new year, but its going to depend on bills and how it goes moving into the house.

No one will know when we do start though!

I have to say that i am loving all the new babies that are floating around here. It does make me want one NOW!! but at the same time i was sick with a migriane all day yesterday and I couldn't help but think... holy, if this happened with a baby how would i have survived. I litterally was at the mercy of my hubby... who even had to help me get ready for bed last night. I know moms are sick and cope all the time, but it made me think about what a challange that it would be. SCAREY!!

I am spending this evening with my friend that is preggers, so i am sure the baby talk will be in full swing. My DH and hers are off to PEI for an annual trip with a bunch of other guys... doing the big manly men thing... drinking and telling lies!! lol. So, we can talk about it babies, but i know i won't have the opporunity to think about making any...lol

Well, being the lurker that I am, its as if everyone is having babies this week.. anyone else looking and thinking, "man, [b][i]I[/b][/i] want one!"

..and then I read about catheters and it makes me queasy. I didn't even KNOW catheters were involved in pregnancies. Hell, I don't even really know how/what they do with it.

Yep, I'm a non-TTCer at the moment. DH and I will celebrate our second anniversary in just a couple of weeks and we are going to start TTC very soon, in the next few months. We are very excited, but ever since the wedding, I have been lurking in this section and just recently started to actually post here. I must confess that because of this section, I have learned a lot about TTC, pregnancy, and childbirth. I used to be clueless prior to coming here.

As for whether I'm doing anything to prepare myself for TTC, DH and I have been gathering as much information as possible and we have decided on the month when we'll start TTC, so if everything goes well with my work, I hope we can get pregnant very soon. I am not on BC and haven't been in *years*, so I'm just following the cycles closely and DH and I will speak with our doctor about preparation for TTC. That's about it. :)

We are waiting a bit yet, we are getting married in just under 4 weeks now, I have a wedding in September as MOH, and another in April as a BM. I'm going to wait until at least then to start trying. Will give us a bit more time to get rid of that loan too.

We've got a nice comfortable house with 4 bedrooms, so at least that hurdle is behind us.

I'm looking forward to the challenge, but also terrified at the same time!!

Also, most people do not think we will EVER have kids, I get downright MAD when people ask - mostly because they nag and nag about it, some people (like my grandma) even uses guilt like "I hope you have kids before I'm too old to hold them…bleh!

i'm also a lurker. not sure when or if we will want children but enjoy reading about others experiences. we are having a great time together since we never lived together before. but if we do decide on kids then, I don't want to wait too long since I'm 29. so we are thinking next spring at the earliest right now. meanwhile we have are travelling a lot and enjoying married life.

If we do decide to TTC, I don't think I will tell anyone until there is something to say!!

His family and my family know.. some of my close friends know and even a couple girls at work. I was telling people because they would ask me what I would be doing once I moved to MI... I stopped 'announcing' that we we're going to TTC after I had told my aunt.

She gave me a big lecture that we should wait, we're too young (I'll be 24 a week after we get married, FH is 25), that a lot of her friends that got married and had kids right away regret that they didn't give themselves 'alone time' after, etc, etc... Honestly, clearly we've already talked about it as it is a big decision and we are doing what is right for us.

Everyone knows that we want kids at one point, but we don't get into specifics with anyone, just a general couple of years timeframe. I talk babies with my closest friends all the time, but they both have kids so it's more me asking about what works vs what doesn't, that sort of thing. I have no intentions of telling anyone IRL when we're actively TTC, and even on here I try to keep timelines fairly under wraps, although since anyone can view my posts I'm sure way more people know more than I'd like :ermm: It's a hazard of chatting with the same girls all the time, sometimes you forget that things are up for public consumption![/quote]

That is what we did. We kept it to ourselves, and of course I asked a few questions on CB...but I never really said that we were actively TTC. The only person IRL who knew we were TTC was my sister in law, but she is my bestfriend and I NEEDED someone to talk about it to and she'd just had a baby. I personally think that is the way to go. My other SIL has been TTC for 4 years and has been having a lot of fertility issues, and it's a HUGE family matter...

I think that my two best friends are the only ones who know that I am obsessed with having a baby.

I haven't told anyone in my family about it yet though. I would rather they be surprised when it happens.

I am glad that I have a few friends that I can talk to about this. Although I am the only one thinking about getting pregnant -one friend is getting married next summer and the other is in law school.

I love coming on CB and reading all about everyone's experiences and seeing everyone's babies and baby bellies.

We are keeping it under wraps.. I have a 6 yr old daughter from a previous relationship and I am soooo sick of random ppl asking us when we are going to have more children I just started telling htem we arent sure if we ever WILL have more children - it is a personal matter, and if for some reason it does take up a long time to get preggo - i do not want to continue to be asked that question on a regular basis - it makes me crazy!

Even my mom thinks that we wont ever have any kids - hahaha I guess she will be extreamly suprised when that day comes! LOL :P[/quote]

I've been a lurker too! lol. When we first started talking about it I didnt want to start right away because I am still young and want to do some more travelling and enjoy private time with my new husband before I have to share the rest of my life with someone else! Now that we are seriously talking about it I find myself becoming a bit obsessed! I have 6 months left on my bcp prescription and I dont think i'll be renewing it. I want some time to let my body get into a normal cycle because at this point the only thing consistant is the pill (some months have more...flow (sorry tmi!)...than others, etc) We plan on getting me a new vehicle this spring and I think after that we will start trying...or at least I can't say i'll be as careful! ;)

I started reading TCOYF and was just telling DH he has to lay off the saunas b/c he was frying up all the little guys.. hahaha... I don't think he took my seriously until I told him that the little 'boy' sperm are the first to go, and if he wants to up his chances, he better stop.

We are getting married in September and want to TTC right away. Our situation is a bit different. FH is CDN, but works in the US.. our house is there, and I can live there legally after we get married but will not able to work, and likely not able to for anywhere from 3-5 years.. so it just makes sense for us to start having kids while I can stay at home and raise them, and by the time they are able to go to school, I'll be able to legally work.. it will be a bit tougher on one income, but really, there is no 'right time' to have a kid.. there could always be one more thing to pay off or buy before a baby comes. I always wanted to be young too, b/c my mom was young when she had me and 2 sisters. She had my brother 12 years later and she doesn't have nearly enough energy as she did before. FH's parents are very supportive too - they already had 2 kids by the time they were our age, and they say it's great, b/c they are still in their forties and both their kids are now grown up and they are living life!

I have been working on eating more/better/nutritious food, something I've been neglecting. Started with the prenatals, although I've been really bad lately about taking it. Now I'm off the pill though (literally finished my last pack less than 2 weeks ago - don't feel any different though ;)); so if I start replacing my vitamin with the BCP I used to take every day at the same time (internal clock still goes off for me to take it.. lol)

I find this section great.. you find a lot of useful info, suggestions, experiences. I went out and bought Taking Charge of your Fertility after seeing so many people recommend it. I started taking my temperature literally two days ago so I can start charting when I ovulate.

Although I'm still scared of childbirth itself - a lot of the birth stories make me queasy and I've had to stop reading them before it scares me away.. lol

Count me in. I've been hovering around this board for a few weeks now. FH and I aren't ready to TTC yet until a few months after the wedding but I've been wanting to learn about others experiences on TTC, charting, coming off BC, etc so it's been helpful to read what others are going through here.

Make sure that your DH starts eating right, exercising and taking multi-vitamins. The sperm he's, uh, 'shooting' now is three months old, so start him on his healthy plan and by the time you're all ready to TTC, his spermies will be all strong and raring to go!

While I'm here...

Me! Me! I've been guilty of lurking in here more often than I should. I don't know if it's helping or hindering my baby crazy issues.

I would love to start TTC soon, but alas, I am heading back to school in September for a very intensive, year long program. There will be no time for having a baby during that time. ;)

Once I'm done school I'll have to find a decent job, and then DH and I will talk about it. I'm hoping it'll be before the end of 2009, but we'll see.

I'm just so impatient! Of course, at the same time I'm so conflicted since DH and I love going on outdoorsy adventures all the time. Most of them aren't baby friendly so we'll have to come to terms with that before we really TTC. but like most of you ladies already said, if it happened before then, we wouldn't be upset. :D

This is us to a T.

We were going to start ttc right after the wedding but decided to hold off to improve our finances, and now it just seems that we have one excuse after another.. I am in two wedding next summer, so I want to wait until then to ttc... by then we will have most of our debt paid off and my job should turn into a permanent position, rather than contract....so it looks like we will be starting some time in 2009, however I would love to start now, it just doesnt make sense for us right now....

I love lurking in this section though.. sooo much fun!
