As for a handprint/footprint...you are on your own! Trust me when I tell you it's not very easy to get those beautiful looking handprints and footprints because they don't like straightening out their fingers or they will curl their toes.

RE: Question for moms...

they secure all this information for you as they need it as well. Then when you are discharge they provide you with a release sheet that has the name of the doc, the time of delivery, what kind of delivery it was, if it was a multiple or single birth, if it was a live birth, your name, dh's name, weight, ect. I think you have to hand a copy to your family doc, or at least that was what I was advised to do.

As for the footprint - i don't remember them doing that with my son at all.

Question for moms...

I was wondering something... when you have your baby at the hospital, does a nurse write down the time of the birth, the baby's weight and height etc etc? Or should we bring a notepad from home and dh write it down? I was just thinking that there's no way I'll be able to remember my baby was born at 3:02 weighing 7 lb 4 oz or whatever. How does that work?

Also, does the staff tend to take a hand print/foot print of the baby for you? Do you have to bring paper with you for them to do it? Or is that something that I would do at home?

Thanks ladies!
