I would get yourself to the nearest ER to have it looked at and cleaned out properly so that you don't end up with an infection. Please let us know how you make out.

RE: my incision opened up!

I'm glad you're okay. (!)
The hospital here has a wait time of about 17 hours. And I'm not exaggerating.

This clinic usually has about 30 people waiting but there were only about 3!!! Amazing! So I got seen right away.

So it's alright. It's an infection but I just have to wash it with anti-bacterial soap and polysporin and keep it clean. She said it's good that it's open a tiny bit (maybe one stitch) because it's draining out. Ew, ew, ew. I just have to watch it as she said sometimes they will open up inches long and then they have to clean it all out.

In other news...
I had two men RUN to open the door for me so I either:

1. Look smoking hot!
2. My enormous boobs looked great in the shirt I was wearing

or
3. I look frazzled and tired enough that people think I may just walk INTO the door and need some help.

:P
Glad to hear everything is ok!!! That is probably the last thing you wanted at this point...but good to hear you got it looked at before AUGUST!!!

I just got home from running errands and your post made me laugh because I was JUST thinking the same thing about me...everyone seemed to want to help me today and made so much small talk it was unbelievable!!! But I am SURE Option #3 was mine!!! hahahaha

RE: my incision opened up!

I'm glad its not that serious after all, you must feel so reassured.

RE: my incision opened up!
chrismont (7/18/2008)
Well, I ended up going to the clinic as I thought it would be faster and I was leaving the baby at home with DH and a bottle. I love living in a smallish town (with lots of little small towns around) the ER wait here is usually 2-4 hours max. and if that is too long, we just go to another small town to their ER and get in immediately. :)

As for the men opening the door- I believe it was because of #1 or #2. ;)

RE: my incision opened up!

I'm glad everything eneded up ok. 17 hr wait! To have a puss-filled pocket the size of a loonie this late after your section sounds pretty worrisome to me. You might need antibiotics via IV right away to start to fight any infections and you may have to have a stitch or 2 to close up the incision. I don't think that walk-in clinics do stitches, but I'm not entirely sure.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

RE: my incision opened up!

oh my goodness that doesn't sound good, let us know how you make out.

my incision opened up!

This morning I felt this loonie sized hard lump right under my c-section scar. Then it opened up and all this blood and pus came out!!!!!!!!

wtf?

So I called my doctor who is useless as usual 'well we could see you at the end of August...'. 'Cause that's totally helpful.

So now I have to drag Toby to a walk-in? ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
