Did you put your name of the list at the specialists office? If not, I would get my name on the list and then perhaps when your doctor is back from vacation then she can recommend a different specialist. That isn't the best solution, but it seems like the only option right now.[/quote]

I am willing to try anything, what are the herbs called and where can I get them. And how would I an Acupuncturist that could help with fertility?

well see, it's a darn good thing you called cuz you would have waited forever for that call that never came and you'd not have known why. So something positive came of it - although not the ideal answer.

So, what to do now -- Call your doctor upon her return and demand to be referred to someone who is taking new patients now. You might have to travel to a different clinic in another city- but it may be worth it in the end if you did. I don't see any sense in waiting for this other specialist when he isn't taking new patients. And how incredibly stupid of your doctor to refer you to someone who isnt taking new patients right now.

Ang, where are you located???

I think this is a good idea or even a naturopath. I know a man who has gone the natural route for treating his cancer and the tumor has gotten smaller, so it's possible that some sort of 'non-traditional' medicine could help you out.

Yay for the positive OPK!!!!!

I don't know if anyone gets this but when I take my vitamin in the morning about 15 - 20min after I feel very sick to my stomach. I tried having it with food it helped a little bit.

I know you must feel like giving up, but fertility specialists exist for a reason and really do help people going through just what you are going through! Don't give up! I am of the school of thought that its always better to be nice and civil when dealing with doctors, but I'm not above being pushy too, when that's what is called for.

Is there any way you can show up at your dr's office on the 16th and basically demand that they call around while you are waiting there and find you a specialist who is taking patients and make you an appointment?

Holy crap, I would hit the ceiling! This is insane...they give you a huge diagnosis like pcos and then just want you to sit tight for months while everyone and their dog dawdles around not helping you at all?

So girls...I have a confession to make, but it ends well! I know I said I was done with opks for this cycle because I was tired and frusterated with negative after negative...but yesterday afternoon I discovered one more stick from my last pack in my purse (yeah, I travel with them sometimes, lol) so I thought what the hell, I will just take it and if its negative, I'm not buying more this cycle. So I took it. And it was positive! And then yesterday evening I started to notice lots of ewcm which became COPIOUS amounts of ewcm this morning! So maybe I'm not out this cycle after all! We bd'ed on Monday, last night (Wednesday) and will again tonight...so I guess you never know! I'm still going to make an effort to obsess less...and I felt stupid after my rant about charting/opks coming back on here 2 days later and going "guess what", but I guess we all have trouble sticking to our guns sometimes, right?

Hi Countrygal, welcome.

The test line should be as dark or darker then the control line on the OPK, if its not I would say there is a very high chance that you have not O'd yet. However, the body does produce the hormone in surges so if you tested in the am and your surge was in the pm it would not be detected, IMO it is best to test 2-3 times a day at the same time. There is also a chance you are not ovulating in the "typical" time frame ie 14 days, but you will notice this through charting. There are sites that offer free charting from a month ( fertility friend) to unlimited http://ivospremium.ivillage.com/fertility/calendar.html they too might be helpful. There was a thread started on chart posts, if you can pop in and take a look they might also provide insite.

Hi Countrygal! Welcome! The thing about opks is, you're not just looking for a second line like you are with hpts. You will always get a hint of a second line. You need the test line to be darker than the control line - THAT is how you know you're about to ov. Hope this helps!

the move was good, AF showed up in the am.. I'm in the same boat - this was the month I wanted to stop until late spring so I would not have a small infant at OUR wedding or be uber preggo BUT now that it hasn't happen and we have a fertility appt next month I think we will keep going until December if necessary!!![/quote]

Thanks guys for the advice. I do actually really appreciate it. It's a tough situation. DH & I had already agreed to keep trying, but I'm secondguessing.

For this next cycle (EDD June 10) I'm really worried that with baby less than a month old I'd be frazzled & stressed at my bro's wedding. Honestly, this is a deeper worry about being frazzled & stressed - period. I just don't want that to be public.

For the next cycle (EDD July 8), I'd be worried about being due 10 days after the wedding date. The wedding is 3 hours away, so I'm worried about bed-rest or travel-not-advised preventing me from being at my brother's wedding. I have to be at my brother's wedding. We're tight. I just couldn't miss it.

DH feels confident that if we got a BFP in the next 2 cycles, we'd figure it out. I know we would. But I worry. That's why I'm secondguessing.[/quote]

So, DH & I talked last night & we are for sure not going to TTC for 2 cycles.

I'll keep charting temps in those 2 cycles to have a better sense of things.

Hey Heather - glad to hear about your rising temps! Have you ov'ed yet? Do your temps go up before you ov? Mine always hold steady for a few days, then dip down lower the day before my spike. Its weird how everyone is so different, eh? Glad you're having lots of fun bd-ing![/quote]

Kirsty - This is my 2nd month charting and it's pretty much the same as last month so far. Last month I did OV and I knew I did and I was totally off with the bd. My temps seems to go up up up before OV stay high with a slight dip just after. So if this month is the same then I'm right on trackand shoulf OV Friday or Sat..

If I don't get preggers this cycle I'll think I will be a bit disappointed only because when your charting you see it so it doesn't make sense. But hten again who knows???[/quote]

I hope you get pregnant this cycle too. But just know that I have been charting AND using opks for months so I have KNOWN 100% when I ov'ed and that we bd'ed at the right time and I'm still not pregnant. So perfect timing doesn't mean 100% that you will get knocked up. I know you know this, I just wanted to say that you want to be careful about setting yourself up for an even bigger disappointment if you start to assume things. I REALLY hope its your month though!! Babydust!
