So something positive came of it - although not the ideal answer.

So, what to do now -- Call your doctor upon her return and demand to be referred to someone who is taking new patients now. You might have to travel to a different clinic in another city- but it may be worth it in the end if you did. I don't see any sense in waiting for this other specialist when he isn't taking new patients. And how incredibly stupid of your doctor to refer you to someone who isnt taking new patients right now.

Ang, where are you located???

RE: August/September 2ww club
Soon2bMrsP (9/4/2008)

kiwi25 (9/4/2008)

SherriB (9/4/2008)
hey Kirsty, could you change my next expected or NOT AF date to Oct 3
Sure...actually, we're about due for a new thread...
agreed, :-)
Ok, new thread's up girls...see ya there!

RE: August/September 2ww club
kiwi25 (9/4/2008)

SherriB (9/4/2008)
hey Kirsty, could you change my next expected or NOT AF date to Oct 3
Sure...actually, we're about due for a new thread...
agreed, :-)

RE: August/September 2ww club
SherriB (9/4/2008)

SofaQueen (9/4/2008)

AngMcQ (9/4/2008)
Ok so just a small rant,
I took MrsM's advise and I call the specialist to get an appointment, well as it turns out he isn't taking any new patients until the new year and there are a bunch of people on the list before. I know I said I was done with opks for this cycle because I was tired and frusterated with negative after negative...but yesterday afternoon I discovered one more stick from my last pack in my purse (yeah, I travel with them sometimes, lol) so I thought what the hell, I will just take it and if its negative, I'm not buying more this cycle. So I took it. And it was positive! And then yesterday evening I started to notice lots of ewcm which became COPIOUS amounts of ewcm this morning! So maybe I'm not out this cycle after all! We bd'ed on Monday, last night (Wednesday) and will again tonight...so I guess you never know! I'm still going to make an effort to obsess less...and I felt stupid after my rant about charting/opks coming back on here 2 days later and going "guess what", but I guess we all have trouble sticking to our guns sometimes, right?

RE: August/September 2ww club
Countrygal15 (9/4/2008)
Hi ladies! I hope you don't mind if I join in here but I am looking for insite from you wise TTCer's. Dh and I have been TTC since I went off the pill mid December. I was of the mind set that it will happen when it happens, but now I can't help but feel anxious. So last month I started temping and this month I started using digital OPK's as well. So this is where my question comes in. I took an OPK test and I got a negative result, however when i removed the test stick, there was a hint of a second line on there while previous times it has only been one defined line. So my question is for you ladies using OPK's is it possible that I am OVing even though it was negative or do you think that i could have tested at the wrong time? I guess I am just curious cause I don't want to miss an opportune time, especially since DH's and my time is limited together. Anyway thanks in adavance and I hoep this was not too confusing!
Hi Countrygal, welcome.

The test line should be as dark or darker then the control line on the OPK, if its not I would say there is a very high chance that you have not O'd yet. However, the body does produce the hormone in surges so if you tested in the am and your surge was in the pm it would not be detected, IMO it is best to test 2-3 times a day at the same time. There is also a chance you are not ovulating in the "typical" time frame ie 14 days, but you will notice this through charting. There are sites that offer free charting from a month ( fertility friend) to unlimited http://ivospremium.ivillage.com/fertility/calendar.html they too might be helpful. There was a thread started on chart posts, if you can pop in and take a look they might also provide insite.

Please feel free to ask any questions, good luck and keep us posted.

RE: August/September 2ww club
Countrygal15 (9/4/2008)
Hi ladies! The thing about opks is, you're not just looking for a second line like you are with hpts. You will always get a hint of a second line. You need the test line to be darker than the control line - THAT is how you know you're about to ov. I know how nice ohh and the movers showed up 2.5 hours late... lets just say DH took a strip off the moving company and I stayed calm, what a switch I think thats from the acupuncture. Speaking of which I just came back from a lunch apt and she said I was doing much much better. She did the cupping again which is to increase circulation and help break down the cysts. I think she hinted off hand that mine are getting smaller because she had less "sore" spots to cup. I'll be picking up some herbs after work today.

Nicole, I don't know what to say I saw your other posts and I am so sorry...

My brother's getting married June 28 09 and a big part of me doesn't want to be upber pregnant or have a 2 week old (June 10 EDD next cycle, July 8 EDD the cycle after that). Another part of me doesn't want to interrupt our lives too much for his wedding. I'm torn. I'll let you guys know what we decide.
Aw, Jamie, I'm sorry about AF, but I just literally lol'ed at that pic! My personal opinion (not that you asked, lol) is that you shouldn't put your life on hold for your brother's wedding unless you decide that not being uber pregnant or having an infant at the time is the best thing for YOU. Don't worry about what other people would think, just go with what YOU guys want. Good luck with whatever you and dh decide...even if you decide to take a break, please come chat with us anyway...we'd miss you!
I agree with Kirsty that you shouldn't put your life on hold for the upcoming wedding. Either way, your brother will be happy you are there for the wedding regardless of being pregnant or with a baby. Good luck!
I'm in the same boat - this was the month I wanted to stop until late spring so I would not have a small infant at OUR wedding or be uber preggo BUT now that it hasn't happen and we have a fertility appt next month I think we will keep going until December if necessary!!!
Thanks guys for the advice. I do actually really appreciate it. It's a tough situation. DH & I had already agreed to keep trying, but I'm secondguessing.
For this next cycle (EDD June 10) I'm really worried that with baby less than a month old I'd be frazzled & stressed at my bro's wedding. Honestly, this is a deeper worry about being frazzled & stressed - period. I just don't want that to be public.
For the next cycle (EDD July 8), I'd be worried about being due 10 days after the wedding date. The wedding is 3 hours away, so I'm worried about bed-rest or travel-not-advised preventing me from being at my brother's wedding. I have to be at my brother's wedding. We're tight. I just couldn't miss it.
DH feels confident that if we got a BFP in the next 2 cycles, we'd figure it out. I know we would. But I worry. That's why I'm secondguessing.
So, DH & I talked last night & we are for sure not going to TTC for 2 cycles.
I'll keep charting temps in those 2 cycles to have a better sense of things.
I'll be back when we start to BD around Nov 8th. I'll join Janelle in lurking until then.

RE: August/September 2ww club
heath8401 (9/4/2008)

kiwi25 (9/4/2008)

heath8401 (9/4/2008)
Good Morning,
My temps are going up up up everyday which means lots lots lots of you know what;) So how is everyone today?

I think or sorry I have an idea or 2 of who secret agent is. I haven't really looked around hard enough but these two names quickly poped in to my head...
Hey Heather - glad to hear about your rising temps! Have you ov'ed yet? Do your temps go up before you ov? Mine always hold steady for a few days, then dip down lower the day before my spike. Its weird how everyone is so different, eh? Glad you're having lots of fun bd-ing!
Kirsty - This is my 2nd month charting and it's pretty much the same as last month so far. Last month I did OV and I knew I did and I was totally off with the bd. My temps seems to go up up up before OV stay high with a slight dip just after. So if this month is the same then I'm right on trackand shoulf OV Friday or Sat..
If I don't get preggers this cycle I'll think I will be a bit disappointed only because when your charting you see it so it doesn't make sense. But hten again who knows???
I hope you get pregnant this cycle too. But just know that I have been charting AND using opks for months so I have KNOWN 100% when I ov'ed and that we bd'ed at the right time and I'm still not pregnant. So perfect timing doesn't mean 100% that you will get knocked up. I know you know this, I just wanted to say that you want to be careful about setting yourself up for an even bigger disappointment if you start to assume things. I REALLY hope its your month though!! Babydust!
