It's a weird dynamic with parents when you hit our age, I think. You're no longer a kid, and so you don't need their protection or guidance really, but you still want their approval and blessing on things. I don't know how yours are, but I find with my mom anyway, she tends to compensate for this by sometimes treating me like I'm less competant/capable - which, needless to say, gets my back up! :D

Like I said, I think it's a cause of tension for a lot of parents/grown kids. Neither is too sure what the role is anymore.

Aww, thanks Hope. I missed you too! I saw you were looking for me :) Didn't have time to say where I was going. Lady I went with arrived and I had to bail.

Headhunter... I emailed resume, I actually expect to hear from him tomorrow. At least a follow up, if not more. Did you have a chance to look at my cover letter? Do I need to 'flower' it more?

parents... yea, I know where you're coming from. That;s why I posted here and didn't hit 'reply'. I know they are worried, and that's the reason why I sent the email. They do still regard me as an impulsive person, but this wasn't. I mean, I don't LIKE being on meds, but .... it felt liek there wasn't much of an option at the time. I do think it's helping, but ... I know it's hard on them. When I was diagnosed with asthma as a child (I've since outgrown it and don't take anything for it), theyt aged about 10 years before my eyes. that was a bit scary.

Oh, and parents replied to depression email. Here are some highlights:

Did you do a check on the medication you are taking? What may be some
contraindications? Um, yea. Thanks. I'm not stoopid
I know at one time I used to get severe headaches; it seemed to be on a
cycle, and had problems sleeping. My birth control pills were the issue.
Hormones were imbalanced. Something to consider. Possible, but I think (I KNOW) it's more than that.
Please be cautious with anti depressants; they could be addictive. right, but Dad being on sleeping pills isn;t terrible at all! Plus, I've never heard this. Anyone?

I know I should be saying this to them, but need to get the first flush out of my system!

Soo.... I have exciting news! :D

A head hunter has been calling me since '06 (2 months after I started), called me last fall, and at the time I didn't want a new job. Well... guess who called today! Mr. headhunter! So, I'm going to send him my resume :D Hopefully there's other opportunities besides consulting, cuz I think I want out of htat. But, I'll see what he has! :D

Not really. Ordinarily it would be, but I was sort of bored, and I needed to take some notes on some stuff that didn't require uber concentration, so I did some while the kids were doing stuff and I had tv on.
