Aww thanks guys.. 6 weeks.. really?? oh crap. I slept in until 11 today - it was awesome :). I'm going to get working a a to-do list because I know I've got a ton to do!

Yay get to go to a wedding today and the site it's being held at was FH's first choice for a venue. I vetoed the location because of price and they didn't allow much flexibility so it's nice to be able to see a wedding there.

Nicotina: I think our FH's were seperated at birth by the sounds of it. Mine has been good about getting the kilts going but it only took him 4 months of me poking him before he finally listened.

Lovemrk: Awe sweety you're the best sister a girl could ever have! I love that idea. And you're absolutely right. When you stop to think about it the gifts should really be a thank you from both of us. The girls are helping out the groom just as much as the guys help out the bride. Thank you for that.

Novalt: yay to having such a great tasting. I wish I could do mine again as it was a lot of fun. You're lucky you got dessert to. FH and I only got to try dinner. Hrm maybe another tasting is in order. I love the pics of you in your dress. It so beautiful on you. Your arms don't look weird or teradactyl like. I don't notice anything like that from the photos.

Novault - You look stunning! I couldn't agree with agree with your decision to removie the beading! Your back looks toned and sculped not bony - At least you don't have a back a** like some of the brides on the TV shows have. I'd be happy!

Novalt....first of all....your dinner sounds sooooooo amazing!!! You are so lucky I'm getting married the same day or I would have crashed your wedding! LOL!!!!

Second...Your dress is soooo beautiful and you look so amazing in it. Don't worry sweetie....you don't look bony, you look perfect! It actually does look nice without the beading! Plain and simple and classy!

Okay, I'm seriously going to bed soon, have myself a nice little coma.. lol.

Nicotina, +1 for lucking out with inlaws.. whew.. lol. Laughed when I saw the 'invite'

Lovemrk, I don't get it either.. I think 40ish days seems like a lot of time to them or something. FH has no other responsibilities now except to show up..

So - our tasting (my mom came with me) was AMAZING. We are paying a lot per plate and now I feel that its well worth it. I was soo soo full I was losing my breath talking after dinner! It was all in the detail - olive tapenade instead of just butter; cooked, yet crisp, tiny cute delicious veggies, not gross ones that taste like they just came out of a microwave and melt in your mouth prime rib. I felt like royalty. The winning dessert (I had picked 2 to try) was caramelized banana and mascarpone crespelle with chocolate rum sauce and coconut whipped cream. It tasted like chunkey monkey ice cream and was fun and diffferent and oh so delicious!

Then today I went for fitting #2, and LOVE my dress. I'm so happy with my decision to take the beading off! The only thing I wasn't happy with was my boney back! I saw the picture and I was like, oh good, I look like a teradactyl. Seriously, is there anything I can do to fatten up my BACK in the necxt 40 days? I'm not even kidding.

Okay, so its definitely bed time for me - its going to be weird not going to work in the morning. I'm definitely going to miss a lot of people there!

Thanks for those awesome comments ladies. I know I'm not the only one. By the way, while all this was going on last night, I said, "I'm telling my sisters tomorrow". He's says "what sisters?", I told him my CB sisters!!! LOL!

However, I hope you guys don't mind me making this comment, but IMO, this is not a reflection on FH it IS a reflection on both of us. The evening I plan on giving the gifts to the bridal party, those gifts are from "us" not me or "him" and that is what I was telling FH last night. I don't believe in the bride just buys for the girls and the groom just buys for the boys. It's from "us".

Lovemrk: I'm sorry to hear that you and FH got into it over this. I understand what you mean. You've heard me lament about my FH and his lack of planning. If I had waited for him I still wouldn't have a DJ. Sometimes I think that we enable them to be such morons about this stuff. They think "why should I break a sweat - if I leave it long eneugh - she'll just do it for me." And they're right. They have gotten us trained perfectly! My FH does stuff like this all the time! Its a little passsive/agressive. He'll wait until I absolutley have no chance of NOT giving him what he wants before he tells me about it. Like telling me Saturday morning when I ask what he's up to today to tell me that he was "thinking" of going and spending the whole day with the guys. Of course this is just before one of the guys calls to see where he is!

I still haven't given in on the honeymoon I am not doing it and I will never let him forget it if he doesn't do it!

Wow okay kinda nervous now because my dress is at the tailors and I won't see it until about a week before the wedding. He's also doing my bridesmaid dresses (getting created from scratch) but they'll be ready for their first fitting in August. I'm sure it will all be fine but it's hard considering the dress has been hanging in my parents closest for months now. I can't go try it on whenever I want anymore. :( But otherwise the fitting went fine. Tuck in here, let out there (boo), hem and bussle. So I can't wait to see how it fits for the big day!

Nicotina: I remember seeing that invitation a while ago when I was looking up ideas for invitations. I showed it to my mom and FH saying to both aren't you glad we didn't have to complete one like this! Was a great laugh.

Lovemrk: big hugs. I know I keep giving FH a bunch of suggestions for gifts and he hasn't said ANYTHING about whether they are good ideas or if he wants to do it, etc. I know he will probably be at the mall the week before picking out something (thankfully there are some options he could pick up last minute). Men just don't seem to get that things can't always be done last minute and with a wedding things will always pop up that are important and need to get done so the sooner you can start something the better!

Xaria: well said. I never thought of it that if the groom doesn't have a well thought out gift it reflects him rather then the couple. That took a little bit of a load off me.

Lovemrk: I had a good chuckle out of your situation. In most cases men cannot be trusted to do assigned tasks. I gave FH only two tasks since February and only 1 has been done yet.

I guess the only good thing is you asked him now, not the day before the wedding! This is one thing I don't think you should take away from him, so don't get involved. If his BM doesn't get a gift it will be a reflection on FH and not you.

Okay...I have to share this with you ladies!! I made it a point to have FH do "nothing" for this wedding. I basically told him to just show up. Now, keep in mind, he did come with me when we booked the venue, when we booked the photographer, the dj and the limo, when we did the taste tasting...however it was all me as far as who to book and when to go!!! I even bought his suit, shirt, tie, shoes and socks for him. Trying to make life simple and easy for both of us. So when we first started discussing what to get the BM and MOH (months ago), he said he wanted to make the BM a knife. (FH works with stainless steel, iron, etc.) and has made quite a few things that are actually on display in Ontario!!! So last night, 6 weeks before the wedding, I asked him how the knife was coming along. ARE YOU LADIES SITTING DOWN?????? He told me he hadn't made it yet and he wasn't in the mood to make it. WTF???? So I asked him, if I didn't ask you about this now, when were you going to tell me???? He said he would have some time. Now FH and I have never, ever, ever had an arguement or a disagreement. So last night I told him I was disappointed in him for not making that knife and for not telling me about it, until I asked. Well guess what, he is now playing victim this morning and "HE" is the one that is surprised by how I reacted last night and that he didn't deserve it!!! Holy cow...my blood pressure is at 6000! MEN!

Wow and I thought I had a long commute and day:

Wake up 5:30 out the door at 6:30. Arrive at work for 7:30(ish). Finish at 3:30(ish) home by 5:00pm. Mon, Tues, Thurs is bootcamp at 6pm. Wed is sometimes home, sometimes out to dinner with parents. Bedtime is somewhere between 10-11pm then it starts all over again.

I'm up at 5:30 - out of the house by 6:50 - at my desk by 8:20 and I don't leave it for more then a smoke until 5:20. I catch the 5:53 train from T.O. to Oshawa and then take the town bus home if my MOH and her FH can't carpool me home. I don't get home until 7 at the earliest. I can sympathize with both Popcorn and Lovemrk - My hair is naturally curlly and it seems to take forever to dry on its own. Not to mention that it gets frizzy at the near mention of humidity. I have found that if I wash it at night its flat on one side and frizzy on the other so if I'm going to wash it I do it in the morning and its usually dry by about 9:30.

Book wedding night hotel room (hopefully I'll remember and do that at lunch today)
Groomsmen's kilt rentals/fittings
Flowers
Hair and Make up trial
Finalize song list
Create must have photo list
Pick an MC
Make wedding programs, ring bearer pillows, table number, garter, guest book signing pages, name cards, flower girl ball (almost done) and sash for wedding dress
Finish BM thank you gifts
Pick up FH's ring (and pay difference)
Poke FH to think of and buy GM gifts
Pay Venus, photographer, caterer, decorator, chair rental, DJ, and limo (ouch that's a lot of people to pay)
Get marriage license
Get liquor license
Buy pop, juice and water for reception
Figure out what we're doing for a kissing game
Have Stagette (Aug 8)
Have Wedding shower (Aug 24)
Dress fitting (going today after work)

Wow I'd better get cracking at some of this. Especially the DIY stuff.

And double wow in the fact that people are up so early! I'm like Nicotina. FH and I are up around 5:30ish which is too early for us. Bedtime is usually around 10. I can't imagine staying up that late anymore but I did do it a lot when I was in school so I can sympathize if a project is due.

And Lovemrk I totally understand what you mean about having to get up early to do your hair and it still being wet hours later. When my hair was long it would take about 30 mins just to blow dry if I had the patience and probably 5-8 hours to air dry depending on how hot a day it was. Now that it's short it still takes about 2 hours to air dry but I usually wash it before I got to bed (yup I go to bed with wet hair) and when I wake up it's dry. It somehow manages not to get many kinks in it which is great!

Nicotina....LOL! LOL! I usually get up at 5 but this morning I got up at 4:00 to wash the mop on my head (which I normally do at night time, but I was too lazy last night). Got to work at 7:30 and it was still wet. This is why I give myself sooooo much time.

I don't want to think about the 100 small details I have to do or I shall go nuts. I figure that is what I shall spend September doing since my wedding is near the end of the month.

I think I finally figured out the centerpieces for my 6 tables. Originally I bought green and brown volatives but they looked plain on the tables so I purchased from Winners a green/brown bowl with a leaf motif and will fill it with water and a floating flower. My over all cost is $9 per table excluding the flower. I figure I will donate the bowls to value village once done.

Overall the wedding is going to cost $12,500 not including the honeymoon which is $10,000. Since parents kicked in $11,000 we will be okay. I went over due to his ring and hiring a wedding co-ordinator for the day which will be worth it.

Lovemrk - What were you doing up at 4:30 in the morning. I get up at 5:30! I hope you didn't pull an all nighter.

Sways - the way my dad rolls I bet I could convince him that he did have another daughter that he forgot about!

Novault - I hope you were able to get that project done. It would be nice to have it off your plate and be free at last.

My still to do:

Book hair salon for all the night before and the day of, figure out if mom's are coming to salon on day of, select e-pic (pay another installment), make sure that 3 groomsmen get in for tux fittings, make sure last Bm picks up dress, be sure that flower girl has dress, seating plan, start/finish the DYI thank you gifts, attend dress fiting on August 6, purchase undergarments for under dress, purchase BM & GM's & parents presents, pick up rings (and pay for them), confirm details with baker (2 weeks before), confirm details with MC and DJ (pay DJ final installment on day of), Meeting with hotel to go over everything!, Purchase earings for bride, confirm flower and cake delivery times, design and print table names and place cards, remind my self why I'm doing all of this, write a speach!

It looks like way more then it really is. Its just a few finickly little things and follow ups now.

Sigh.. I'm a huge procrastinator. I've got this final project due at work, and just like when I was in school, I'm leaving it till the night before, and I STILL can't bring myself to do it... instead I'm creeping on CB. I'm working from home tonight and going to try it get it done, but I have a feeling its going to be a late one.... and even later if I don't stop coming on here.. haha

Tasting tomorrow night.. :D
