I find myself going in cycles - I'm totally into planning for a bit and then I find myself not wanting to do anything wedding related. It was easy to use the excuse of "oh we have lots of time, well over a year" but now that we have just a year, I think I should get on it!! :)

I'm May 29th 09 but I want to share too :)

Done: Venue, Photographer, Engagement Pics, Officiant, Picked out my dress, Got my shoes, Picked bridal party dresses, Picked invitations, booked florist

To do: Book musicians, pick tux's, make favours, make programs, make table numbers etc. etc. LOTS TO DO!

Included with the hall: Linens and chair covers, centrepieces (still need to pick), DJ, Cake (still need to pick) invitaitons- done already!

I'm pretty ahead of things. I'm super excited to register!

So I have the officiant booked, the photographer is pretty much booked, the ceremony and location and caterer is booked, invites bought and the invite wording done. I have the favour boxes bought, favours planned (truffles and CD's)

We're not doing our save the dates until much closer because there have been SO many changes (dates, venues etc) and because I'm on mat leave we want to make sure we have the wedding paid for before we send them out. Probably next April (5 months prior).

We are getting married on October 17th 2009.

So far we have booked the church, the venue for the reception. The wedding party was pretty muched picked out right away. We had our engagment pics done when we went to the Dominican so they are all on the beach. Decided on colours of dark purple (plum).

Right now we are looking for a DJ, photographer and booking a limo. Just seems like their are so many options to pick from which makes it that much longer to get through. Going to look for my dress this weekend.

How far ahead of time is everyone sending out their save-the-date?

all i have done is decide to change from fall 2010 to fall 2009! well nto really. i have the invitations done, not hte info part but the folders, envelope lining etc, I have made a bunch of candles (im making all my candles of soy wax), made some of my paper chains - making it for decoration not entirly sure i will use it but its only a package of paper and some glue sticks and time while im watching TV anyway. and looked at dresses though not found anything i LOVE. geting closer though.

Today FH and I are meeting our wedding planner to sign the contract and look at some venue options. hope to have that all setteled by the end of the month, or next month at the latest, depending on time and my school demands. figure ill let my wedding planner to alot for me since I will be in school untill 4 months or so before the big day.

I plan on having e-pics done before the summer is over, probably late August.

I have started to look for a dress - I tried on some that I really liked but I'm not sure if any other them were "the one". I'll be going again on Friday for round 2. :)

I have the wedding party officially picked out!! :D

I'm gathering ideas about invites too. I'm going to make my own, I think! I'm so excited!

Someone mentioned they have their toasting glasses, which reminded me that I have mine too already! FH used them in the proposal, so naturally we're going to use them for the wedding.

They are crystal champagne flutes from Birks. They have "Bride" and "Groom" etched into the glass. I love them! Here's a pic:

wanted to bump so we can keep adding to this thread for those of us who are waiting patiently for our day (ok year first LOL) to come.

What has everyone been working on now.

I am still working on getting a photographer so we can get e pics done this fall. how soon before your wedding is everyone plannign to get their epic done? Is a year before too early?

Ok so after a busy couple of days I was able to get some of our original deposits carried forward!!!

So we have our DJ, Reception hall and photographer booked! And I still have my jewellery, shoes, purse and hair piece that I didn't sell when we postponed everything in February.

The ceremony will probably also be at the hotel - they have a separate room with a view of the mountains and huge windows that I think would be nice for a day time ceremony..we may look around a little more but I doubt it.

I also want to get our officiant booked before the end of the summer so that I can concentrate on baby until January when I'll need to start dress shoping and picking up stuff for my MASSIVE diy list.

Speaking of..here's my diy list LOL :D some of it is just stuff to decorate but some of it is full on crafty times. :hehe:

wanted to bump this as it keeps me motivated - figure the more I do now the better it will be next year - hopefully less stress.

I was playing around with invite wording and trying to figure out how to make my invites a semi pocket fold since I already have the invites that aren't a pocket fold

But I want to send hotel info, a map and the RSVP with each invite. I think what I'm going to do it make a separate insert with the info in a pocket fold type of things, like this

like the right hand side of this invites (I stole this picture from someone else on CB, forget who but I loved the way this looks) That's what I'm hoping to do but need to get some supplies to play with it a bit.

Wedding is September 19th 2009 Im very early in my planning but less to worry about next year J

so far I have booked/gotten,

totes for bridal party gifts
My Dress, tiara and veil
I accidently found my shoes… lol
Got my jewelry just yesterday.
We met with the priest and put down our deposit
found a great photographer who’s giving me the rights to all my pictures… so that a plus
our wedding bands, FH bought his and had it engraved with our wedding date in it. Had mine made. Mom gave me her wedding band and my father’s(passed away when I was 13) and I had them melted to make my band and had their wedding date and our wedding date engraved in it.
I have a friend who used to work in a bakery making wedding cakes so she agreed to make our for free

Now it’s just the florist, my bridal party and a few other things to worry about but still lots of time left

Well I guess I belong here! We were going to push it to 2010 but I think a THREE YEAR ONE MONTH engagement is plenty thanks. LOL

So since I've been planning, booking, replanning and rebooking this wedding 3 times now (this will be the 4th) due to school/babies etc I don't really have a lot to research.

We've rebooked the dj so far, picked colours/theme (fall theme). We're doing a luncheon after a noon ceremony :D

I've ordered a few invitation samples too with the new theme on them. I have to do a little bit before baby comes in September because I don't think I'll be able to do a lot of planning after that until he's 2 or 3 months old LOL.

Glad to see we're not the only people doing things so early! We are late Sept '09. We booked our venue about 6 weeks ago (and got the last available Saturday up until oct 2009). We've booked the caterer, DJ and our officiant. We've chosen our bridal party and MC. I've started designing our monogram, STDs, menu, and invitations. Thank goodness there is 15 months left!!

I think we will have our engagement pics done later in the summer. I'd love to do something beachy with them. But then again, I also think having fall pics would be beautiful with the leaves. I would have loved a fall wedding but I'm a teacher so that doesn't really work out for me too well.

We've started looking at DJs. We are both very picky about music so this may be a challenge to find a DJ who sees things the way we do. :)

The DJ is included in the price of my reception hall, so I have already recieved information from the 2 DJ services that my venue uses, and I just have to let them know my choice by January 1st! :D

I'm looking forward to meeting with both DJs, but I am a little nervous too because I love music, and I really want the music at the reception to be awesome for everyone!

Wow. You girls are all WAY ahead of me! I'm getting married at the beginning of May next year and all I've done so far is book the venue for the reception and ceremony! I have LOTS of ideas, but haven't done much yet. We have a photographer in mind who is saving the date for us (while we shop around a little more) I'm going dress shopping in a few weeks, and I guess by the sounds of things I should probably look at booking the officiant pretty soon as well.

Hey Saraht76 I'm a fellow August 1st bride!!

So far we have the Church, the reception hall, and the photographer booked. We also have the invites bought, the wedding party selected, the guest list almost finalized and have spoken with but not finalized the caterer. We are registered to take the marriage prep course in September. As far as decor, we are having a black and ivory wedding and I have bought the material to make table runners and have a pretty clear idea of what I want everything to look like. I have the bridesmaids dresses picked out and we are having a girls week-end in August for them to try them on and purchase them, as well as for me to shop for my dress.

It's all starting to come together!

we have the bridal party picked out. I've already chosen the colours, we're just going to let the bridesmaids choose their own dresses, just all in the same colour.

Oh, and we have our Save The Dates :) (in case you haven't seen them.. They're magnets!!!!!! I totally recommend the company too! Magnetstreet.com did a GREAT job.. and affordable!)

I've booked the ceremony and reception place (same place). Met with a couple of the preferred caterers and will book by the end of June. I have my invites (will be DIY) and favour boxes (will be making truffles for each guest and a personalized CD for singles and couples) have lots of planning pictures and ideas.

I thought i was doing well until I read some of your posts.

We have chosen our wedding party, booked the hall and chosen the officiant. We have lots to do but I feel like we have a lot of time, the hall doesn't even need us to come back until 6 months prior to choose the menu and pay the next deposit, and then we decide how we want the layout and all those details, even though we know what kind of meal we want already, anyone else worried about food prices going up from now until then? I guess booking doesn't mean you get the prices they have when you book, so I hope it's not too bad.

I'm getting so many things on track! I have my venue for the ceremony and reception, my flowers, my officiant, my dress and nearly all my accessories, my photographer, my groom!, my wedding party, and am getting most of the small things on track too (centrepieces, my meal choices, my music choices, my decorations, etc.) My mom actually went and bought her dress today too, totally unexpectedly!

I feel pretty good about where I am!

I'm also so happy to see other brides on here planning ahead! When I got engaged, there were no 09 brides. Now, as it nears the one year mark, it is finally feeling more real!

Our first appointment to check out a venue is next week!
Aside from that ... we've chosen our wedding party and decided what type of ceremony we're having (we're writing our own interfaith ceremony with a secular officiant :)), and that's it! We don't even have a date – we'll wait to see what dates are available at the venue we choose.
