I have an eclectic mix of people coming and have so far only looked at three venues:

1: The hall - The German Concordia: was just way too German for us (please don;t take offense, andone of German descent!). Lots of old world symbols, dark wood panneling, etc. It could fit the amount of people I invited, but it would cost more to decorate to suit the theme. Way more.

2: The hotel - The Radisson: helloo Sex and the City glamour. Chandeliers, breathtaking views, lush rug, wood dance floor. We could do it but it would be impersonal. It's a huge space.

3: The club - The Odeon Event Centre: Actuially pretty sleek, modern, no rugs (yays!) and can party until 3 am. Good prices on food. Excellent space. Can decorat ewith simple glam touches to get the theme going. And my brothers band will play for free if we book there.

So has anyone had their reception in a club or dance venue? What problem happened? What benefits were there?

Thanks for any support ladies. The planning has started!
