I agree Earl Bales has some nice monuments etc. which would make a nice backdrop. I live in this area so know these locations well. If you enter Earl Bales from Torresdale/Antibes entrance, you'll get the most scenic parts of the park - lots of ravine with paved cycline/walking/jogging paths and bridges over the stream, etc. - very pretty. But be prepared to walk for at least 15 minutes through the park! There are also horse stables in the park, you might see about doing photos in there.

You might also see if you can get a photo permit after hours in Yorkdale mall - you might be able to do your photos right in the mall and maybe get some cool shots if you want an urban look/feel to your photos. Along the same lines, you might try doing your photos in the subway at Yorkdale and/or the newer and very modern looking Downsview station - you'd get some really awesome ones there but be prepared to share space with passersby in that case.

The Airspace museum would be cool. I've never been there though so unsure what's there really but can imagine. Sounds cool - see if you can do your photos in an airplane hangar! That would be awesome! But not sure how you would go about getting onto the airbase for that.....it's mostly air force/military property still even though the military base itself is supposed to be officially closed (which makes no sense to me because I've been there and it's still all military in the area).

RE: Photo locations in Downsview!??!!?

I totally forgot about Earl Bales! I went to school in that area.. duh...

There's a small park near the ceremony, I'm not really looking for park as much as architecture, or something fun...

RE: Photo locations in Downsview!??!!?

There is a park called Downsview Dells in the Jane/Sheppard area. We had a picnic and it would make some nice pictures. There is also Earl Bales Park that is between Wilson and York Mills subway stations (on Bathurst near Sheppard). You do need to book the sites though through Toronto Parks and Rec.

I still think that the aviation museum would be great. There is also a go kart place there if that suits you, and a wildlife shelter (with tons of animals!).

Hope that helps.

Nicole

Photo locations in Downsview!??!!?

Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking de Havilland, at dufferin and Wilson area... I've contacted the guy from the aviation museum, so I hope they'll let me do it there...

Any ideas for anywhere else in that area!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

I dont' want to drive farther than about 10-15 minutes from Yorkdale area.
