Well ladies, my wedding on Friday went very well. Weather was great and got some creative shots by the lake with the wind. Will post under pictures section when they finally arrive.

My hubby was very suprised about the train cake - unfortunately have no pics with my camera to show now. On to packing and getting ready for the honeymoon. Thanks for all of your help September brides!

Hi guys, sorry I've been MIA like some of the other newlyweds out there. We got back from our honeymoon and suddenly there's gifts to sort, stuff to un pack, work, pictures, etc to all sort and through all this I'm trying to get caught up on CB here.

First I want to say congratulations to all the other September brides out there. Our day was wonderful and I hope all of you had a wonderful day as well. To all the brides still coming up I just want to say ENJOY EVERY SECOND OF IT. It will go by so fast but it will be an amazing day for all of you!

And finally here's a teaser to leave you with. I'm working on putting up my photos in the newlywed section (check as the day goes on).

wow ladies!! I don't envy your mother problems! asside from a few issues in the beginning (dress color/guest list) my mother and FMIL have both been pretty good, leaving me to plan the wedding. Offering to help but not second guessing much. Hopefully they will remember that it is YOUR day, of course they want it to be the best day ever... but the way YOU want it to be, not them. :)

FH and I are planning a fun first dance.. Rock the Reception style.. we just should have planned it a lot early so we might have been able to get dance lessons! a "dancing with the starts" DVD works wonders tho. LOL. FH is a HUGE (i'm talking HUGE) Spiderman fan... and he happens to have Michael Buble singing the spiderman theme song!! it's so awesome. it shoulds like any other michael buble song, but the words.. hehe... so we are planning a jive/swing type dance with some improve in the middle LOL. I just hope we can pull it off!! no one knows except MOH and BM and the wedding coordinator. so if we decide last min to chicken out no one will be dissaponted. LOL. I just wish we had more time to practice!!

and... well it's Wednesday... I'm just about packed and ready to head to Nova Scotia. We are leaving this afternoon, few more last min things to pick up along the way. I'm having a hair trial tomorrow but other than that i HOPE to be able to relax and take it all in before the events start (rehersal/bbq friday night. wedding saturday. brunch/gift opening sunday)

The last few of us September Brides are almost there!!! I prob won't be back now till after the wedding, monday or tuesday. (unless FH is late getting home today and I"m getting antsy i might be back. LOL) You've all been a great help, and peace of mind saver (lol i just made that up)!! I wish you all a fantastic wedding day, the day we all dream it will be and better. :)

Nicotina: I hear you on the mother thing. My mom has been extremely quiet as I have had her involved in very little. This means she has nothing to comment on. When my mother starts talking about stuff I quickly reminder her I am 43 and have lived on my own for 20 years and have survived so far.

I hate passive agressive people so what I would tell her is it is your wedding. She had her chance years ago to get what she wanted. Ask her if she wants to spoil your day and the time leading up to it arguing with what she wants rather than helping you get what you need.

If all else fails tell her you don't need this negative energy before the wedding and hence you will not be talking to her until after the wedding! That should shut her up.

Nicotina: Amen to us. That's all I have to say! Sorry your mom is being like that. I've been having the same issues and it finally just came down to me saying "I'm the one getting married, do NOT insult me by second guessing ANY decision I've made. End of story."

So now the weather is calling for 60% chance of rain on Saturday...juuuuuust what I always wanted!!! It'll suck if we have to do pictures inside only because with a party of 10 there isn't a ton of room.

I have checked with all the vendors etc and I think we are pretty much on track...I just keep getting this feeling that I'm missing something and it's making me crazy!

I've redone a 'to do' list and it's surprising that it's 25 items long...I figured it wouldn't be that long still!

Crissy - I'm sooo glad that you guys were able to work things out with your mom. FH was right - he was the one who gave them the wrong number and its not like you knew about it! I'm so happy for you - its going to be great!

Sways - Deep breaths - I'm glad that the new seamstress is going to be able to fix it for you. I'm sorry again that you had to go through all of this - crap. It seems that you and FH are bound to walk a difficult path on your way to the isle. I hope that this means that the day of will be super easy for you!

I have been pretty tense latley. This whole wedding thing is coming to a head. I have checked and double checked with all of my vendors and everything seems to be ok. no hassles there. I do have one hassle though. My mom. I am a 30 year old woman who owns her own home and has lived with her FH for 7 years. I do not need some one to tell me what I "really want". I do not want lace, tooling, tons of flowers and a cinderella wedding. That's not what I have planed. My mom seems to think that I am misstaken and she must second guess every decision I make. I feel at this point that I can't do anything right! Conbine that with the fact that my mom does this passive/agressive stuff and it drives me insane! Its all I can do not to tell her to take a hike and not come back untl after the wedding. I know she just wants to help but trust me - that's not helping.

On Saturday we went to the venue for a rehearsal. On Monday she sent me an email saying that she didn't think that the location at the venue that we have selected for pictures was going to be "pretty enough". I'm sorry you frrl that way - 5 days before the wedding I am not changing the pctures location. I think its fine. The focus of the pictures will be the people not the stupid gazebo!

Well - if you've made it this far - thanks for reading - I just needed to vent!

sooooooooo Lucy is able to salvage majority of my dress...she has to basically take the whole thing apart and start over however the focus of my dress is the wine ribbon that wraps around and that's what she's going to have difficulty with because Sue just cut and crap out of so we'll see...fingers crossed....

92 and a bit hours for me!!!!!

So my fh went over and talked to my mom. He was absolutely furious that my mom did this. He is such a brave man lol. He actually went over there and defended me and told her she was being selfish by making me suffer for something I didn't know about and that it was an accident that she didn't get the message and told her to blame it all on him. Now she has apologized and is being happy for me and is letting my sister and I get ready together! I am soo happy he did that for me. Now I know it is meant for me to marry him.:)

Crissy - I'm so sorry to hear that your mom is throwing a fit! Are you the oldest? Could you possibly have your bridesmanid's explain to her the situation? The last thing you need is more stress this week. Have you and FH tried sitting down with her. Try and reason with her she wouldn't want to miss watching her daughter get ready for her wedding over something as silly as this.

Xaria - love your ring - I am totally having bling envy. Both of our bands are plain. I was debating having stones added but next year - hmmm - I still have 4 days right?

So my bridesmaids threw me a surprise bridal shower on Saturday. I was having a great time and everything but wondered why my mom and sister weren't there. I figured she had to work so I let it go and asked my fh after the shower. He told me that my bridesmaids left several messages and she never called back. That is pretty typical of my mom. Anyways she calls me on Sunday and completely freaks on me. She is yelling and screaming and got mad at me that she wasn't invited. I tried explaining to her that they left her several messages and she said there was no way they did. So I checked the number that my fh gave my bridesmaids and it turns out that he gave them the wrong number! So I tried to explain this to my mom and she said that was no excuse...that they should have banged down the door and made sure she was informed. She screamed at me some more and then told me that she wants my little sister (she is 12) to have nothing to do with the wedding party. My sister can't get ready with us the day of the wedding and I was supposed to get dressed at her house. I am completely devastated and I don't know what to do. I can't believe she is doing this to me 1 week before the wedding.

You ladies are lucky... I wish I was taking a honeymoon right away. FH just started his job a few months ago so he doesn't really get time off. They were accomodating for the wedding of course, so we are just taking an extra night in the honeymoon suite at the hotel we are getting married at.

I took a an extra day vacation for when we get home, to relax. but I'll be back to work Oct 1 :(

Our carribean honeymoon will be in March or April. Something else to look forward too once the wedding is over. :)

I am officially done all my duties/printing etc. Just have to pick up tuxes on Wednesday and pack. Nice to have peace and quiet with FH gone. Had a wonderful massage yesterday and am trying to deal with the honeymoon stuff now.

Am I the only bride out there who is not excited??? At 43 its not like I am leaving home. Our only adventure is the 2 week honeymoon to Greece and Egypt.

Weather now looks a bit crappy for Friday and Saturday but its early days yet so I am not fretting until Thursday am.

hey guys...guess you should be the first to know. the shop that was altering my dress completely RUINED it and i've been crying pretty much since i was there. it's butchered for the most part and i'm a mess. i called a little shop in my city (as i got the dress and alterations done in huntsville) and she wants me in at 4.30p on tuesday to get everything fixed. my MOH walked back into the shop (cause we had left and came home) and picked up my dress and said she wasn't paying for the alteration at all. they wanted $162 plus tax and i was really upset and called FH and told him and he was like cut your loss pay the bill and bring it home to this place and i was like nope i'm not paying the alteration so there you have it.

everything better be fixed for the wedding or i'll just...god i don't even know what i'll do if they can't fix the dress proper...

my dress is in the closet behind me... and every day FH leaves me a voicemail saying.. "take off the dress... put the dress back on the hanger". LOL. but i really haven't put it on, only when the bustle was done. hehe.

OH so my NEW bridesmaid has received her dress (I had it shipped from manufacturer to her directly since we are so close on time) and she just found the perfect shoes. yay!! everything is coming together... a week before the wedding. LOL.

Just came back from my work party. About 8 showed up for drinks but the office gave us $400. I was impressed. Had a nice time, but a bit low key since the market has been crap so all the brokers are a bit frustrated. Have 8 days - well actually 7 to go now. Must start the packing this weekend. Getting rid of cat and FH on Sunday so I can clean up the bits to be finished. Been looking at the long range forcast for Greece so I know what to pack. FH comes back later on Wednesday and then we are off to pick up the tux and the lawyers for the powers of attorney and my new will.

For those getting married this weekend I believe the weather in the GTA at least will be sunny. Enjoy!

STOP LOOKING, lol!! I totally kept looking and twice it said rain, once it said 13 and now its says 21 and sunny, argh, stupid weather network, lol!!!
