Neat! How long does the course take?

I am moving soon, and want to buy some "married" furniture (even though we'll be living in a little apartment).

Where do you go shopping for affordable furniture in Canada? IKEA is an obvious choice, but I've heard the quality is bad...

Also, how did you all decide how to decorate after you got married? I have very definite ideas about decorating, but I have an inkling that my husband does too...

I actually bought them at Chapters/Indigo. Those stores actually have some really beautiful and stylish home decor/accessories. Not cheap either![/quote]

I haven't decorated all that much yet (except for my hundreds of pictures on the wall, my fave:P) but I am so excited to get a bunch of matching kitchen stuff! I am just learning to cook, and maybe I'll use wedding money to get some new goodies!

I buy stuff as often as possible.. and it's usually LITTLE stuff, but with us buying our new home in about a months time.. I'm loking into bigger items.

Which is a bit stressful because we have our wedding in less then 2 months!
I think it will all work out fine though, because we probably won't be moving in until closer to the wedding, and with the wedding money we get and the gifts, we should be sure to be fine (right now we live in a SMALL duplex.. so we don't have much furniture... one small love seat.. tha tis old and in need of throwing out.) We haven't had the time to buy a new couch and we knew we'd be buying soon so we didn't want the extra space when it came to moving!
So we'll wait until we are moved in and then get our new furniture. Which REMINDS me.. I need to register this weekend!

Love your plates!!

I love decorating!!! I'm already buying more stuff for our new place!! I can't wait to move in...and I'm on mat.leave so even worse...I'll be decorating pretty much everyday until my top-up runs out! LOL~ :P

I always picked up little stuff... like I had bought our silverware, before we were even engaged! I figured, I'll need it someday! LOL

I did that too so your definitely not the only one! Our house just closed 11 days ago. We are almost to the point where were going to start moving stuff in (were hoping to be totally moved in by Sunday) and it will be like Christmas when I open all the rubbermaid bins I have. I think there are around 7-9 of the large bins that are full of stuff I have been collecting over the last 2 years. Opening those bins is actually one of the things I am most looking forward to because I have no idea what is in them anymore!

On top of that I have my parents living room full of stuff I got from my showers. Sorting through everything and finding a home for it all is going to take a while.

I did that too - before I even thought about getting married. I would buy thing as I saw them. I packed everything in Rubbermaid totes and then when the time came for my first place on my own, I had lots of stuff.
