I haven't chosen a theme yet because I am finding so many depend on what kind of flowers you want. I think I am leaning towards potted herbs; my fiancé and I are foodies and it would make sense for us as a couple.

I am planning on being walking down the aisle by my two brothers so I won't need anything in my hands. Maybe you could have both your parents walk you down the aisle. I had been considering carrying a sword (as a joke).

RE: Flower alternatives

What about Crystal Bouquets?

or:

feather bouquet:

candles:

berries:

RE: Flower alternatives

I am the exact same way as you! I have NOOOO flowers in my decore at all. There are LOTS of different options to go with as the pp mentioned. The hard part is... what to carry down the aisle...Fill me in if you think of anything. People have mentioned a candle, a bible or a horseshoe to me.. but none of them are appropriate at all. However, the horseshoe thing is pretty cool.

RE: Flower alternatives

Lanterns, containers of fruit, bamboo, twigs, nests...

Do you have a theme?

Flower alternatives

I almost feel like I'm from another planet for having this opinion, but I really don't like flowers. I never liked getting them as a gift, I certainly don't like growing them myself and I just don't want any at my wedding. Yet another reason I don't want flowers at my wedding is that both my fiancé and I have serious allergies.

When I say this to people, they give me some seriously strange looks. My MOH even went so far as to threaten to order them herself.

I have been looking for some alternatives to flowers for decorating tables, the venue, etc. So far I have thought of potted herbs, candles, stones in glass containers. Does anybody else out there have any other ideas?
