Hi Ladies,

One of my gf is getting married next summer, and has fallen in love with Maggie Sottero's MonaLisa...but not with the price tag :( She is looking to see if she can buy it used, so I thought I'd try here!!! Here is the dress:

She is looking for a 10-12 in either Diamond White or Ivory. She is located in Mississauga and is willing to drive to see it! If anyone has one they would like to sell, please let me know! THKS!

We are having our wedding oot in an auberge (in 3 weeks eeek!), all the (40) guests are staying overnight and we have a brunch on the sunday morning. I want to surprise my fiance and buy him a tee-shirt like this one :

Cheap Alterations in K-W area?

Does anyone know of someone who will do low-cost wedding dress alterations in the Kitchener-Waterloo area? I want to do a trash the dress session but lost a lot of weight since my wedding. Now I need my dress to fit again but I don't want to pay the same as I did last time. Any ideas appreciated.

So I need some help!

I have purchased the maggie Sottero "Sabelle" dress and along with this dress comes a lace bolero, it is gorgeous and I absolutely love it. My problem I am having is that I am not sure if it is too much with a veil. I feel like there may be alot going on with me wearing the bolero, a flower head piece and a veil... but at the same time, i dont want to feel like i am missing something if I do decide not to wear a long veil and wear just a head piece instead.

Any thoughts?

SO...i posted about 2 months ago about changing the dress i had already purchased. I was so stressed out and felt horrible because i had serious buyers remorse about the dress i had originally chosen. I went back to the store i purchased my first dress at and tried it on again (hoping that i would fall in love all over..). When i put it on i could appreciate its beauty and elegance, but it just want for me. I wanted something more form fitting and more simple!! The people at the store were amazing and the owner worked w me to cancel the order on my first dress which btw was already in producation :w00t:

Originally i had narrowed my new search to two dresses and had you guys help me in picking, but when i went back to try the final two again they had just got in a new dress. I was the first to try it on. it was EVERYTHING i wanted. sweetheart top, form fitting, gardeny (cause we are doing everything outside) and just beautiful. I knew THIS dress was the one. I didnt want to take it off and still get butterflies and so much excitement when i see pictures of it!!!

I am going to wear my hair up but in a lower bun style w curls. i am going to put a flower in my hair but cant decide about a vail for the ceremony..what do you all think?

Bustle question

Something just doesn't look right to me the way my dress is bustled. Looks like a big lump.

Is there any other way we could bustle a tiered dress. Right now the alterations girl just sewed on a loop of string and a button. I'm wondering if maybe two tiers?

Suggestions or pics of tiered dress bustles would be appreciated. I don't have much time.....my wedding is on Sat!!!:w00t:

So I went for my last try on.....after they told me they had sent the dress out for cleaning. The dress was not sent out but spot cleaned by someone at the store :angry:. The dress is still dirty! It is very plain to see!! I couldn't believe it! And as I was inspecting the dress I discovered a lot of pull marks in the bottom layer of fabric (its a tiered dress I posted previous pics of it) and a hole that can't be fixed (although it is covered by the layer above it and there are spots that look like when you put something too hot on material and it puckers it up.....I am crushed! They basically told me that these were probably there before and I just didn't notice them and too bad for me because I bought an "off-the-rack" sale dress, there is nothing they can do for me :crying: I went back into the changing room, took off the dress and sat on the floor and had a little bridal crying moment. I did demand that they clean the dress properly...so we will see next week.....

Sorry for the long vent.....just wanted a perfect dress. I used to love it, now I just want to cry when I think about it. I know nobody will notice these imperfections, but now I feel like it is tainted my feelings that I had my perfect dress!

Finally It's mine. I will be happy and feel beautiful on my wedding day. FH pushed me into giving up the other dress I put 30 bucks down on and I'm so glad he did. When we went to try on dresses again at Bridal Image, I was bummed thinking that I was never going to find something that was a happy medium between making me feel amazing and staying within the budget. Alright....

So I'm just starting to plan my wedding. I've always LOVED Maggie Sottero dresses, and there are a few that I LOVE out of her current collection. There are a few websites out there that you can order a copy of the dresses for a significant discount. I can go into a local store to try them on and make sure I do like them so returning is not a consideration.

Hi ladies....

I found a dress I loved that was way out of my price range so I found a seamstress and had a similar one custom made (in a different country!) of course it still has to be altered a bit and the gap in the front will be closed to only 1/2 an inch(it looks far apart in the pics cos im holding it in the back)...im also going to add something to the front of the dropped waist! Its a bit wrinkled but its cos it was rolled up to be packaged for delivery.I ordered my dress 2 months ago...thinking it would take 6-8 months to come in, and it was delivered yesterday morning.

Just wanted to share for all you ladies who are loving the designer gowns but not the designer price tags ;) Look into a seamstress!!!

I just got engaged in June of 2010. Like every other bride I am sure.. I've been broswing wedding gowns online; many of which caught my eye. Then last week I came across one that just had me thinking, "gorgeous, I have to try it on" I spent last week calling around and no such luck. Called the designer's toll free line and sure enough it was being shipped and would be available this weekend! I called Mona Richie's Bridal friday night after hours and Mona picked up the phone! She had JUST received it and still hadn't unwrapped it! I made an appointment for this morning, she unwrapped it and I put on my VERY first wedding gown EVER and voila! It is the one! Unbelievable, I'm still speechless. I did however try one other dress that I had spotted while waiting, but it didn't do any justice!

And so within 10 minutes, I was being measured and paid my deposit, YIPPIE!

Wow, so with much doubt in my head and weighing heavily on my heart i had to go back and try on the dress i had purchased. I am thankful that i did because after trying it on again i realize it isnt 'my' dress. I went back and tried on a style of dress i felt was more me. i have narrowed it down to two dresses. which dress do you think looks best?

I purchased the Maggie Sottero Sabelle dress :) for my wedding day and I wanted to purchase extra matching roses to tie in with my head piece. Does anyone know where I can purchase them? or is anyone selling some extra's that they have? I need them in diamond white.

The bridal boutique where I bought my dress called the company and they do not sell extra roses anymore.

Headband Choices....need some help!

Ok....I think I have made a few choices on headbands and am looking for more advice. I am still on the fence about wearing a veil but will figure that out at my dress session next week when I try some on.

Here are a couple of the headpieces I like. The first two are from Bridal Classics...anyone know the average cost on these tiaras?

The next two I can get on ebay from Venus Jewelry. Anyone deal with this seller before and are the items good quality?

I like this last one because my colors are baby pink and chocolate brown.

So my fiancee is tall and lean and likes his clothes fitted as many guys these days do. We had many issues with suits as we didn't want the baggy look in the arms or jacket, but found that suit jackets that were his size still fitted baggy, mainly in the sleeves. We found many suits to be boxy too. We're definitely renting suits but were shocked to find out that you just have to pick out a suit you like from a book & then order it. Sure it arrives a few days before your wedding to see how you like the fit, and the stores carry some of the styles in the magazine, but we both didn't like that you couldn't just try it on beforehand. We were worried about how the suit we'd chosen would fit in his size but figured there was nothing we could do.

We were at a Tip Top Tailors in Pickering and found a suit on a mannequin that looked really nice & fitted. A gentleman that worked at the store started talking to us and we shared how we were nervous about ordering suits and not being able to see them until just before the wedding. He informed us that Tip Top Tailors/Freeman formals can in fact order in [i]any [/i] suit and tuxedo jackets, multiple styles in fact, for you to try on in advance. He said they probably don't advertise that much since it's extra work, but encouraged us to do so since we were paying the money.

What a relief! So, if you're renting through Tip Top Tailors or Freemans and have the same dire curiosity as to how the suit actually looks or will fit, you can order it in his size to try (and then they send it back). And it only takes a few days! Funny that they didn't tell us that at the Oshawa location all the times we expressed worry regarding how fitted the suit would be... In any case, just thought you ladies might like to know that if you're as anal as I am about details & knowing how things are in advance! :)
