My FH always wanted to give me a bigger diamond but again he was still a student when he proposed so... I got the smaller diamond but most importantly the man. He too promised to get me the "one I wanted" or "upgrade the diamond" at a later date. Not necessary but such a sweety!

Congrats on finding a great man (and a great ring!)

RE: Over priced wedding band

That's such a sweet idea from your FH. Maybe you could try pricing other jewellers to see if you could find the ring you want at a better price.

RE: Over priced wedding band

From what you are saying I think our e-rings are very similar. Here is a picture of mine with the band that I got and it was $500 for the band. Maybe that is more in your budget (we are young as well and I put my band on a payment plan and each pay day I paid so much and now I have it).
Everyone that I have shown this band to with my e-ring loves it. Even the lady at the store said that they are going to show the two rings together more often.

Both rings are from Ben Moss.

RE: Over priced wedding band

Here's a picture for you Jessicah.....you may want to print it off and get quotes from other jewellers.

<A class=a onfocus=if(this.blur)this.blur() href="http://www.diamondessence.ca/earrings1.cfm?productid=2358&categoryid=3&subcategoryid=14">

RE: Over priced wedding band

You have something to look forward to on your anniversary now! A plain band will be gorgeous, bit it would be a very lovely anniversary gift down the road to get the band you really wanted to begin with!

Over priced wedding band

So sad....

I love my ering, it has a round diamond in the centre with a bagette on either side. It is very hard to find a band to fit with it because the center stone sticks out too far to butt a regular band up to it. So we visited the jeweller who sold us the ring to see about getting a matching band. The band would have 2 bagettes matching the ering with a thin band of gold beside the center diamond. We knew it would be more expensive than a regular plain band, but when the jeweller came back with a quote of $800 I was stunned!
I think my face showed this because he let us know that he could design the same kind of band without the diamonds for $200. Unfortunatly, marrying young we don't have the budget to spend $800 on my ring, so we will be going with the less expensive version. I am saddened, but I am being realistic. My FH suggested that perhaps when we are better suited financially, for one of our wedding anniversaries he would get the band we had hoped to get.
That's one of the qualities I love about him, always trying to find a positive point to every situation.
