Quick way to lose weight?

Went yesterday to have a few alterations done on my dress...was very depressing!! The lady where I went said, "why dont I just get a dress that fits, and that I should lose some weight!!!!" Left feeling very upset, and all i need done to the dress is a few minor things...I am not a size 0, but I dont think I am fat by no means. I am a size 9. I want to lose a few pounds for our april 3rd wedding, and have been going to the gym, but I think with all the wedding stress, it is just not working. Does anyone know of a way to lose a few pounds quickly, nothing drastic, and without harming my body? Any help is so much appreciated...stressed and depressed is not a good combo!!!

I have been on birth control for just over 10 years now and have decided that my body needs a break (we are also ttc). I have been off of it for four days now and my body is so messed up. Today I had bleeding, cramping and a horrible headach. I had my period last week, so I dont know why this is happening. Have any of you girls had weird symptoms when going off of the pill?

I always wanted to know how well professional teeth whitening works. I know it's expensive too, so if there is one time to try it, that could be for my wedding.
But I don't want to look like a Colgate commercial on the pics ! :D

Laser hair removal

Looks like I must have deleted the post I wrote exactly 5 weeks ago - sorry :)

Anyway, it's been 5 week since my first go at laser hair removal, and I thought I would let you all know that so far it's going really well!

There is a good amount of hair that just plain old didn't grow back, and what has grown back is A LOT thinner and not as dark! I can go days without any sort of hair removal and I can't see it like I could before! I can feel it - but it's obviously not as dark as it had been (thank gawd!).

I just had my second appointment today and she super charged the laser today and I have a very good feeling about this whole thing! I could feel it a bit more today and am sooooo hopeful this kills so more hair!

Just as reference: I have light brown hair and skin that tans easily - both these things she said could work against me - but so far so good!

My next appointment is near the end of February, so I'll try and update around then again to let you all know how it's going. She said 6 treatments will be necessary - so here's to hoping that's all I need!

If anyone is in London, I would totally recommend this lady to you :)

If anyone has eczema, please help me out here.

I had one nipple for several weeks that was "leaking", getting flaked skin, my nipple would stick to my shirt or bra, extremely uncomfortable. It wasn't anywhere else. There is Paget's disease of the nipple, a type of breast cancer and I matched the description because it was ONE nipple.

Well.
June 23, I finally... finally... went to a doctor and was prescribed BetaDerm for a week. If it didn't work, I was to have a Punch Biopsy. Well, it worked! It was so much better after.

Now...
I have about two patches on each arm, BOTH nipples now. I have been using The Body Shop's body butter. The girl working recommended Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter because she has eczema.

I was just wondering if anyone has had this on their nipples...

Hair dresser in Oakville - for a Sunday

Myself and my bridal party would like a oneshop place to stay and get ready on the day of, so we are renting a room the night before and it would be awesome to work out of a hair salon that is already in the hotel.

Or does anyone know of a great bridal hairdresser who works out of home/ pr in my case hotel?

Hi All, I live in Richmond Hill, Ontario. I want to get fit and swim. Do anyone know any pool around Richmond Hill or Toronto / GTA that offers huge pool, e.g. 50ft / 25 meters minimium and ALSO CLEAN? I thought about YMCA and community center but noticed they are not as clean as I saw ppl pee in the pool.... :crazy: so disgusting! I guess this will happen in most pool but do you know anywhere that is not as bad?

I have really really curly hair. It was like ringlets when I was in my teens, and then at about 17 I started chemically straightening it. Loved it, but hated the upkeep. Since I've had my DD my hair isn't AS curly, but is still a frizzy mess.

Last night I broke down in tears....When I bought my dress it fit me pretty well perfect (size 8) but I was scared so I ordered a bigger size just in cast (size 10) NOW I've gained so much weight and the size 10 just fits like if i gain any weight it won't fit....ugh!!!! :crazy: I've been eating so well...but haven't been able to exercise. I was going tonight to join the gym, however, found out that the bus route stops at 6pm and I get off work at 5pm and won't be able to make it home (ps I don't drive/have a car)...I've tried exercising at home but it doesn't work ..I'll find a billion other things to do...I know I'm making excuses and I'll figure out a way to lose weight but dieting isn't cutting it anymore I need to get back into the gym!! Anyone have any suggestions!

I just ordered a 5 day pass for goodlife (you can go online on the loblaws website and link to the goodlife fitness promotions).

I think we get a membership deal through work, so i wanted to try it out before i commit.

did any of you try goodlife? how are their classes? do they have aerobics (i don't know if it has a "fancier" name now, haven't been to a gym in about 7 years:))?

as i made a plate of fries for dinner, i decided i would like to shape up a bit and loose about 10 pounds. I still have a year left till my wedding, but this is more of a life goal, as opposed to a weadding-oriented goal... i guess i'm looking for some words of advice and any experiences/advice you ladies may have:)

Hi All!

I put on 50lbs while pregnant (EEK!) mainly due to bedrest and cheesecake LOL! (Damn that preterm labour )

Anyway, I have been working away at getting my pre preg body back and have lost 31lbs in the last 4 months. I don't have a gym membership or anything like that, i just squeeze in a bit here and there when I can and incorporate Callum into my workouts as much as possible.

Anyway, a few friends had commented on my weight loss and asked what my secret was so I thought I would start a blog to help inspire and motivate others, share tips and advice etc.

Every year around this time, when the air starts to get a bit dry, the inside of my nose gets SO dry that it will start to crack and bleed (not an actual "nose bleed", but just as if your knuckles or something were to dry and bleed). It is SO ridiculously painful and I have yet to find any sort of remedy. It is that time of year again and it is starting to feel very tender so I know what is to come. Does anybody have anything that may make the dryness inside my nose go away!? It hurts so badly and I really don't want to have to keep dealing with this!

I hope this all made sense... thanks in advance for any answers.

Eyelashes

Long story short ladies I don't have eyelashes and I feel fairly insecure about the entire ordeal especially with my wedding coming up. I see all of these beautiful brides and regardless of their size they have gorgeous eyes and I simply don't have that.

I'm not sure what to do for the wedding. I find false eyelashes to be very irritating and they don't quite sit right on my eyelids because there is no natural lashline to follow.

1) Anyone know of anything that promotes/stimulates hair growth?
2) Anyone have a recommendation for a great makeup artist in the GTA area for my wedding - someone who is going to be sensitive to this issue.
3) Does anyone deal with anything similar?

Electrolysis - for hair removal

I'm looking at doing electrolysis for hair removal. My plan is to initially just do my armpits, and if successful do other areas such as legs, bikini line, etc.

Just wondering if anyone on this site had any experience with this. Just wondering how long the treatments were, how many treatments were needed, and results from the treatments.

I know this is TMI but I am wondering if anyone else ever gets constipated on a regular basis and what are your remedies to cure it? I eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and sometimes that doesn't help. I also don't want to take any laxitives.

So.. I havent had my period in 3 months, am on the pill, not pregnant and my dr. said "don't worry, lets try a new pill?" Ive been on the pill and its been fine and suddenly its cause my pill stopped working? I dunno but maybe its something else? ANyone else run into something similar?

During the week, I usually hit the gym about an hour after eating dinner. I understand the importance of having a protein shake (or something similar) after a workout to help repair muscles, etc., but if I'm still full from dinner, isn't it just extra calories I don't need?

I am getting married in Cuba in March and although I am getting my hair done there, I would like someone to do a trial here while a friend takes step by step photos so that we could give them to the salon in Cuba. I also would like some who would do my make-up while teaching me what to do once I am there and giving me a list of things I have to buy to do it. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone in the Toronto area that does hair and make-up and can help out with this without costing a fortune? I'd rather not just go to a salon and the make-up counter at Mac.

Hubby and I have H1N1 (Swine) Flu

We are both in horrible pain, Hubby never ever gets sick. I Just wanted to post this for those who are not getting the vaccination. Neither of us ever get the flu and I have only got the flu shot twice. We are both going to be out of commission for 9 days, missing some really important events.

If you think you will "take your risk" about getting the H1N1, realize that it is the worst both of us have ever felt!! and that even though we are not high risk, (they wouldn't give us tamilflu), We could possibly infect others who are high risk, (Like my sister who is pregnant)

For upcoming years we will both definatly get all flu shots, unfortunatly we caught this viris prior to qualifying for the shot.
