I drink lots of water and I have no bags. On occasion that I DO get bags.. I put cucumber on my eyes for a few minutes and it instantly reduces puffiness and the black-ness as well..

Good luck!

RE: Bags under my eyes!!

Strange... Lack of sleep is not as big a factor for puffy eyes as it is for bloodshot eyes. If anything, sitting up instead of lying down prevents fluids from collecting in the tissues around the eye. Sleeping with your head slightly elevated and making sure that your neck has the support it needs can help prevent fluid retention. Alcohol consumption and a diet high in salt can cause water retention and increase puffiness around the eyes. Contact lenses can cause irritation and swelling, so be sure that you are wearing the most comfortable type for your vision correction. Many of the same things that cause bloodshot eyes can also make the area around your eyes puffy.

Be sure to take your makeup off meticulously at night, do not rub your eyes, and take an antihistamine if you have allergies. If you are sensitive to skin-care or makeup products, avoid them. Preventing dryness around the eyes can also be very helpful in reducing swelling. If dryness is your problem, a lightweight, fragrance-free moisturizer will help. Be certain the moisturizer does not contain any irritating ingredients that could make matters worse. If you have time in the morning, place cool compresses on the eyes.

If none of these things help alleviate the problem, the natural appearance of your eyes may just be puffy. Most typically this is caused from overly large fat pads around the eye (everyone has fat pads around the eye) creating a puffy-looking bulge. If that is the case, the only way to get rid of the problem is with cosmetic surgery, which in most cases is incredibly effective.

DARK CIRCLES

Dark circles can be caused by several factors, and each one needs to be dealt with in a different way. Dark circles can be caused by sun damage, veins and capillaries that show through skin, irritation, and the natural dark pigment that can occur in this area. They can also be a result of natural shadows that fall within the eye area, making that area appear darker. Plus, dark circles can be a result of dry skin making the area look dull and tired.

Be sure you are using a lightweight moisturizer (gel or silicone-based moisturizers are best for this) under the eye area; too much or too heavy a moisturizer can make your concealer slide off. Always use a sunscreen during the day, or wear sunglasses, which will prevent sun damage from stimulating dark pigmentation to occur.

Matte (rather than too creamy or greasy) concealers are best to cover natural shadows or dark pigmentation because they tend to last longer and not crease. Examples include Revlon ColorStay Concealer ($8.99), Maybelline Great Wear Concealer ($4.99), Paula’s Select No Slip Concealer ($7.95) and Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Concealer ($14). The color of the concealer must be light enough to cover the dark circles, but not so light that it gives the appearance of a white mask around the eyes. Avoid using greasy eye pencils and stay away from mascara that smears; these can both slide during the day, making matters worse. Use only a tiny amount of powder to line the lower lashes or wear no liner at all. If you have allergies, you may want to consider an antihistamine. Although uncommon, food allergies may also be to blame, but this would need to be confirmed by an allergist. City pollution can get to your eyes by the day's end, too, so you may want to use an air filter in your home or office.

If all else fails, you may want to consider laser treatments for lightening (and in some cases eliminating) dark circles. Traditional skin-lightening products do not have any effect on dark circles unless they are caused by sun damage.

**From www.cosmeticscop.com
RE: Bags under my eyes!!

I have dark circles and bags too, I've had the dark circles ever since I can remember. I use the Occitane under eye concealer/brightener which I love. Also, there's an Oil of Olay gel which I use after the concealer which appears to help. During the day (dry office ) I put on Clinque refreshing eye gel which feels lovely...

Big events - the wet chilled tea bag thing (green tea - I've been told is very effective).

RE: Bags under my eyes!!

Are you talking puffiness aka bags or dark circles?

RE: Bags under my eyes!!

Drink ALOT OF water! If you don't you will retain water ( too much salt not enough water) If you drink lots, it should help with puffiness. Plus I always use a highlighting cream ( I've used Revelon and Mary Kay I think I like the skinlights by reevlon better) and it helps too moisturize, highlighting cream and then foundation ( only a little).

Hope this helps!

RE: Bags under my eyes!!

Thanks for your help ladies.
