I had a bunch of my bridesmaids, and my mom come...and we were really dissapointed :(
THe whole gimmick of it sounded great, but we each had to go through a history lessons for 10-15minutes, and then the actual 'make-over' wasn't. I never use the colours she brought, and we all had the same makeup.

She was REALLY pushy about buying stuff, to all of us, and wouldn't leave until we each got something. It sucked, because the items she was pushing were REALLY expensive. She managed to get my 15 year old sister to buy this whole 'timeless foundation, facewash, moisturizer' set for 40 year olds-told her it is never too soon to start worrying about wrinkles!

I was happy with the product I got (Satin Hands) but I hated the whole visit. I would rather just go through someone then have them come demonstrate and push the products.

Afterwards, when I actually got my products (2-3 weeks later), she came by and pushed into my apartment (i lived alone then) and said she signed me up to receive information on being a consultant....i was really p.o at that
I kind of had the same experience as you. She just did skin stuff the first day, with the big history, and I don't mean to be mean, but she was a black lady and she didn't really speak english that well and took FOREVER to get through anything. She wasn't too pushy, but nobody really had fun and most people ended up leaving early and I was a little embarrassed. Now she keeps calling me and I just don't answer the phone. I've decided I'd be better off doing my makeup myself.
That is too bad that you ladies had bad experiences. PLEASE don't let it put you off of trying the products again at a later date (with a different person maybe?). I am a consultant and it makes me so sad to hear your stories, especially because its surrounding your wedding. Each consultant will run their business the way they were taught and sadly, some people are taught that pushy is ok...so not ok with me!!!
I became a consultant because the products are awesome and really changed my skin. lol, some people may now call me a MK junkie. :)

RE: Mary Kay
schrambony (5/26/2008)
I won that exact same prize at a wedding show, and was excited for it. We loved it and had a great time. We got some great tips and the rep wasn't pushy at all. My favorite MK product is their foundation. :)

RE: Mary Kay

this post is from 2006...how did that happen???

RE: Mary Kay

I won that exact same prize at a wedding show, and was excited for it. Even though my wedding isnt until June 30, 2007! So if anyone has used them or has heard about them, did you like the service? Gimme your reviews!
