The braces I have are regular braces, but each brace is clear on top and metal on the bottom and they are tiny. I believe they are called Datons or Daytons. When I went to get braces they told me I could pick out which style I wanted, and these were the smallest. So you may still have options, even if you can't get the invisalign.
If you are really wanting braces, go for it. The time will pass quickly and I am sooo glad I did it.

RE: Invisaliagn braces

I seen the preview for the news and heard that, but didnt get a chance to catch the program.. And there is only 1 orthodontict place that will do them, they are located in Richmond Hill.

RE: Invisaliagn braces

I had braces when I was 19-22, I got the clear ones, and they tend to break and stain more easily than the plain metal ones, but the invisalign were SOOOOO much more expensive my parents said no way! Plus, the treatment takes a lot longer (or so I was told, anyway) I think mine were around 5500, my brothers were 4800 (plain metal)

I knew a guy in CEGEP who had the invisalign, and I never even noticed till he told me. His teeth looked great, but they weren't horribly crooked to begin with.

RE: Invisaliagn braces

Thanks ladies.. The orthodontist told us that they break easier (for a child I presume) and the casings are actually bigger than the metal ones so your lip sticks out more and you might have trouble saying some words.
ETA: DUH....don't mind me...I thought you meant clear braces.

RE: Invisaliagn braces

Hey Crystal,

I had them in high school..... i don't have time right now to tell you all about them.. but i'll send you a FB message (i'm sure i have you on fb)

RE: Invisaliagn braces

Do you mind if I ask the price difference??

RE: Invisaliagn braces

I went for a consult last week for braces...they described the invisalign to me & the care etc. etc. it was too much hassle, I chose the clear braces & I am just waiting to hear back from my insurance company.

RE: Invisaliagn braces

I went for a consult and they looked great but I ended up not doing it. My dentist's wife actually has them and loves them. Nobody had any clue she was wearing them until a few months later she had a bit of a lisp on one word and someone asked. They are super expensive though so make sure you either have the cash or a great plan!

And I'd suggest looking on their website for the rated orthodontists. I went to one of the top rated ones and he was great.

Invisaliagn braces

Does anyone have any experiences with invisalign braces??

My DD shild care provider just got them about 2 weeks ago, and so far loves them, and I am now conisdering going for a consult, but she is the only person I know who has ever had them...

Can anyone share any experiences - either good or bad?

TIA!:D
