Might help...then you can get a spray tan to fill things in.
I'm going to go get a tube top or something, and wear that this weekend and other days off. If not, spray tan... but I'll test it out before, lol!

Foundation - last resort.

Thanks ladies!
Let me know where/when you're going. I'll go with you if you want. The spray tan places that just put you in a booth aren't as good as the ones where someone is actually spraying you. When I did it, I just wore my "laundry panties" and a strapless bra. The lady said more often than not, the women she spray tans just go naked. I was a little more modest I guess :) you could go topless (I'm just thinking you might look funny on your honeymoon if your bra is alot different than your bikini.
If anyone else is looking at doing this for your wedding, I think its great. but make sure the place/person that is doing it for you is reputable. Also, exfoliate the night before, but don't put lotion or anything on (its so hard, but its worth it for a nice tan, trust me!!). I wasn't allowed to shower for 12 hours after, so if you do this, make sure you do it on a thursday afternoon or evening, and then shower friday morning. After you shower for the first time, it evens out and looks its absolute best! then I'd say by sunday, use a good exfoliant and a silky shower cream, and scrub it all off :)

ETA...just to add belts...when I say "i'll go with you" I don't mean like in the room with you...I mean I'll go get a spray tan as well....I don't want anyone thinking I'm a big perv or something....well any MORE people thinking that I guess :D

RE: Tanlines...

i'm in the SAME boat as u!!

scared as heck about tan lines for my strapless dress..

my solution: 100 minutes at the taning at the salon.. i dont have to go for very long because i'm like snow white... so I just go for 3 minutes in the standup tanner only a few times a week! I'm hoping for the best because its JUST not practical to lather up in sunscreen EVERY time u walk outside to grab the newspaper lol

RE: Tanlines...
msamanda (6/21/2008)
Can you go out in the sun with a tube top or strapless bikini on when you're on days off to try and even your tan out? I would prevent the tan lines and only let yourself tan when you can get the look you want.

RE: Tanlines...

I was thinking (dangerous, I know, lol!)... if most of my skin matches, with the straps area a bit lighter, could a foundation or something be applied to even it out? I spray tanned at External Affairs and voila! tan lines GONE. I'm going to spray tan prior to our wedding this year to ensure the same thing

OH, and prior to and after the houseboat, I wore ALOT Of sunscreen!

RE: Tanlines...

Honestly I would really suggest using serious sunblock for the whole summer to avoid getting a tan at all. Then only allowing your self to tan when you can wear a strapless top or go fake tanning, etc.
Otherwise you will probably be left with tan lines, or mis-matched uneven colour between your natural tan and the tanning lotion colour. Good luck!!

RE: Tanlines...

what about putting self tanner on just the whiter parts? like where straps are and stuff? it might make the difference less obvious....i usually do that ...

RE: Tanlines...

hmmmm....spray tanning might be an option but i'm not sure if they can match to the tan you already have. i have a friend that works outside and she wore sleevless shirts and she went and had a spray on tan to even things out for her parents anniversary and another friend of mine that was there said it turned out great. if you went in a tanning bed, i'm not sure, it might even it out but i don't know. the only other thing i can think of to do is wear a sheer shirt or something...i dunno. if you go the spray tan route though make sure you try it out really far in advance and find a good place that does it. i think the airbrush ones would probably be best. Jen went to one on the north side and it looked awesome.

Tanlines...

I'm starting to worry about tan lines! I have a strapless dress and my wedding is at the end of August. I spend a lot of time outside in the summer and I tan really easily, and already I have a decent tan, but straplines!

What to do about this?

If I go to a tanning bed, will it fill in the gaps, so to speak, or will it darken everything and the lighter parts will still be noticeable? I can't wear a tube top or anything like that, since the 'girls' need bit more support and I can't exactly do field work in a tube top, lol!

Help!
