Yep...everytime I click on a jpg it just opens a new window and I am back on the forum/talkboard

I agree- I think that's completely fair to the BM since you encouraged her to find a different dress. I personally think the green one is really ugly... I much prefer the pink one! She looks great in it.

Your friend looks gorgeous in the pink dress and honestly, I hate the green one. I would just tell her your made a mistake, she looks gorgeous in the pink dress and you'd like her to wear that one and that you will compensate her for the green dress if she can't return it. I'm sure she'll be happy she will be wearing the pink dress that she was so excited about. Another bride recently posted photos with a pink & green theme and they were gorgeous....the flowers were stunning. Add a few pink flowers to your MOH's bouquet and voila. You are lucky to have such a wonderful friend!

More and more brides are doing that. I didn't choose my MOH and BM dresses either. I told them the colour and that I preferred floor length... but to wear whatever style/material/etc they wanted. It worked really well.

I love the pink dress on her... it's very flattering, and it's a really nice shade of pink. It should work well with green. No offense intended, but I really don't care for that green dress.
I'm sure she won't mind if you suggest she wear just the pink dress... that's the one she is excited about anyway. Just tell her that after seeing the pictures and thinking about it, she looks so fabulous in the pink that the pink is the winner.

I am definitely going to pay for her green dress, since she wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't hinted that I wanted her to be dressed in green. I'm not sure if that will affect her choice on the day though...

Thank you to the previous poster who said that her green dress may be nicer in person! It's true, she is kind of glowing yellow in that other photo.

Is there any way you could enlist a friend/family member who's known for being less-than-tactful and could tell her it's not very flattering? Or depending on how devious they might be, arrange to spill something (non-staining) on it that would mean she had to wear the pink one? (Bad, I know...;))

BTW, since it's sort of a shiny fabric, it might actually look different in person than in her photo - don't lose hope!

Almost my words exactly! I also added that she should return the green one if she can, but she said again that she will bring both.

I know that people joke the bride chooses awful dresses so that she will be the prettiest person in photos, but that green dress is one step too far :D

I think she is bringing both, (which is terrible... even though she can afford it I feel bad for suggesting it!!!!) so now I have to think of a way to ask her not to wear her green dress on the day...

You know, something that sort of hints, but ultimately leaves it up to her (initially, at least...).

I agree with the others...I really like the pink one. It's not a bold pink, it's very soft and subtle which practically goes with any colour scheme. Good Luck!

i wouldn't mention the green dress at all so maybe she'll forget it exists....just keep raving about how awesome the pink dress looks on her! and if she mentions the green one, say "i like it, but that pink one is just da bomb on you...the green one doesn't wow me the same way"

she'll get the point..hopefully...and if she doesn't let me know and i'll tell her... :D

definately the pink one!

the green one just doesn't do anything for her and it's loud and may take all the attention away from you in your photos.

Let her know ASAP because some places give you only days to make a return

I would definitely go with just the pink. I don't know what the rest of your stuff looks like, but generally pink and green go well together.

I think the pink dress does look a lot nicer on her than the green dress. I guess the rest is up to you, and if she can return the dress. I know most places have a no-return policy on formal wear, so it would depend on where she bought it.

This is a somewhat long story.

I originally wasn't going to have a bridesmaid, because we are planning this wedding very quickly and it seemed like too much hassle. Then I realised that I would at least need someone to sign the registry, so I decided to ask a friend who is making a big effort to come from overseas.

I asked my friend last week, and the wedding is May 31st.

She had already bought a pink dress. I hate pink, and our wedding colour is green, so without seeing a picture I hinted that I would like her to wear a green dress. She is a darling, and went out to buy a green dress. She sent me photos of both today, and I actually like the pink dress on her much, much better!!

I know my friend was excited about the pink dress, and now I can see why. She is planning to bring both, so that she can wear the green one at the ceremony, and the pink one at the reception. I don't know what the return policy is where she lives, but if she can return the green dress I think she should wear the pink one all day. We can perhaps put some pink flowers in her bouquet to match.

So. Basically I have three questions:

1. Can I ask her to change her dress AGAIN and suggest she wear the pink one?

2. Is it worth hanging onto a colour scheme?? (For those of you who are married)

3. Don't you think that the green dress is UGLY anyway? :D
