But my mom doesn't want to put "late" on the invite. This happened to my cousin a couple of years ago too, so she has passed along some suggestions. here is one that I really like.

Emma Marie
daughter of
Meredith Foster and Stuart Foster, in blessed memory
and
Walkter Hough
son of Harriet and Theodore Hough
request the honor of your presence
and their marriage
Saturday, the eighteenth of June
Two Thousand and four
at six o'clock
Greenacres Country Club
Somerset, New Jersey

But I'm also leaning towards this one...

Because you have shared in our lives
by your friendship and love, we
Maria Paulson
and
John Connery
together with our parents
invite you to share
the beginning of our new life together
when we exchange marriage vows
on Sunday, the third of May
Two Thousand and Four
at three o'clock in the afternoon
St. Joseph's Church
3 Billy Jeans Street
Orchard Park, New York

RE: Invite wording with deceased & remarried parents

check out www.verseit.com

they have the proper etiquette for these situations.

RE: Invite wording with deceased & remarried parents
LaurieAnn (5/7/2008)
together with our families .. love that
That's what we did. 8 parents (both sets divorced and remarried) so there was no way it would all fit.

RE: Invite wording with deceased & remarried parents

FH and I are hosting and I'm really glad (well I'd love financial help but it saves us invite trouble). His mom passed away when he was 10 and his dad remarried seven years ago. His dad married a woman (FHs stepmom) who's husband passed away around the same time. FMIL is very close to a mom for FH so can you imagine what the wording could be like?!

RE: Invite wording with deceased & remarried parents
LaurieAnn (5/7/2008)
together with our families .. love that
I agree with this :)

RE: Invite wording with deceased & remarried parents

My father has passed, and my mom remarried.
