You don't want people feeling like they are shelling out $$$ all night long. A few good games and good prizes and people will spend enough money on them and drinks.

Don't stress! As long as you've been selling tickets you will be fine... easy for me to say eh?? I'm worried about that as well!!! :w00t:

RE: Stag & Doe

Geez, at the 'socials' we have in Manitoba, there usually aren't games, just drinking, dancing and a chinese auction or 50/50 draw. Having nightmares about it (shock and surprise). It's in Brampton which is so far for my family and friends but really close for FH's so we're counting on them. Since I don't know all of them really well not sure what to think... *sigh*

RE: Stag & Doe

the nail in the log is good even if it is over done. it draws a huge amount of men who stand around drinking beer and proving their manliness. those same men may get bored and leave otherwise. Do you have enough prizes? the key is not to worry about how many games. people only come with so much money and only spend that amount. fewer games with more prizes works better than lots of games and few prizes. we had really good prizes, a really good dj and made money off of the bar as well. try to make sure a good amount of people are there EARLY. if not, when people drizle in it may look boring and they will drizzle back out. we had over 80 people at ours by 815 at night. the place looked busy just after we started and noone left once they got there. we made quite alot of money.

RE: Stag & Doe

Well another thing that is really popular at some of the ones I have been to is golf, you rig up some sort of (difficult) putting game , and the person to get hole in one, or fewest puts to whole, wins prize. You can probably fix up something really inexpensive with cardboard and charge like a buck or 2 to play.

RE: Stag & Doe

Well you get something long and fill it with water (i am using wallpaper containors) and you buy some feeder fish real cheap. The you let people buy the fish to race and whoever gets to the end wins a prize!

RE: Stag & Doe

What are fish races???

I am trying to look for something different than the usuall, joker cards and nail in stump, your 'fish race' game intreges me....do tell???

RE: Stag & Doe

what about a raffle of some sort?

Stag & Doe

Out stag and doe is next friday!
