A "kick off" toast and then mingle until your fireworks display... ??

RE: Alternative to a dance?

Ideas:

* fireworks

* sleigh/horse-drawn carriage rides

* dessert party

* piano bar

* martini lounge

* casino

* hire a band (rock, swing, etc) ~ it's a small concert not a dance

* tours of something (winery, castle, surrounding area)

RE: Alternative to a dance?

I am having a high tea recpetion and then a fireworks/dessert party. :D

RE: Alternative to a dance?

I like the piano player idea!

We did a fundraising event a year or so ago and it was a casino night. We had appertizers and wine and a piano player. It was swanky and everyone had a blast.

We are having a picnic after our ceremony. We are undecided about the music...we want a first dance but don't want to have to book a tent. There will be less than a dozen people there. Hopefully...lol!

RE: Alternative to a dance?

When my mom got married a couple of years ago, they had a pianist play all evening and everyone just mingled and such, the dance floor was extremely small but for those that wanted to dance did.

RE: Alternative to a dance?

Cocktail party!

RE: Alternative to a dance?

I dunno...maybe you could do games or something...you know kinda like a fake casino or something like that...or have the ceremony earlier in the day and do a brunch instead of a supper...just soem thoughts...

Alternative to a dance?

Hey ladies,

Does anyone else have two left feet and is opting out of the dance? My fiance and I are definitely non-dancers and I've been trying to think of ideas that we can use to entertain our guests between dinner and the "final event" (hoping for fireworks by my township is trying to make a bylaw against them unless you have a certified professional).

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks so much,
Em
