Ceremony: String quartet

1) Parents being seated: field of Gold (instrumental)

2) Processional: the Flower Duet (Lakme) ..I really wanted Yellow by Coldplay but it won't fly in teh church. the instruemental version is gorgeous!

3) communion: Gabriel's Oboe (theme song from "Mission"

4)Recessional: Only time -Enya

Reception:

first Dance: Songbird- Stevie Knicks

I would like to add Nina Simone to the crooner list as well.

OH and Pat Boone and Sinatra and Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller and The Andrews Sisters.

I like a lot of Big Band so I'm leaning twards that during dinner. We're also looking at dinner as a time to play stuff that we love but you can't dance to like my favourite song - The Weight by The Band.

My friend had a lot of old-school jazz during the cocktails, and it was lovely. Artists like:

Louis Armstrong
Dean Martin
Michael Buble
Frank Sinatra
Nat King Cole
Ella Fitzgerald
Peggy Lee

What about something like Norah Jones or Dido? Or a good movie soundtrack - Garden State has a lot of mellow stuff...Coldplay?

Recessional:

Bridesmaids: Hot Child in the City - Pat Benetar (also my fave sex and the city episode that I watched with my girls all the time...so its special for all of us)

Me and FH: Money City Maniacs-Sloan...(mostly for the first 45 seconds)

Father Daughter: my dad is still deciding

Bouquet toss: Boys - Britney Spears (I used to be a huge fan of her growing up LOL)

Registry Signing: Grow Old with You by Adam Sandler

Entrance to Reception Hall: Not sure if we're doing this

First Dance: Still unsure, but likely either Broken by Seether or Dig by Incubus

Father/Daughter: If Dad picks, probably either Heaven by Live or Daughters by John Mayer. If I pick, the acoustic version of My Hero by the Foo Fighters

Mother/Son: FMIL is still picking

Last Song of the Night: Where Do We Go From Here from the Buffy musical soundtrack (hee)

Still need to figure out a song for the tulip toss, cake cutting, some of the pre-processional music, etc.
