I have tried to come up with a unique card box idea for our winter wedding but haven't had much success. The wedding ceremony is outside on the ice so I had thought of making an igloo out of clear or white lego, however, plain lego has become a thing of the past and not easy to find...even at a lego store. And then I wondered if the idea could be pulled off tastefully instead of tacky...? So anyway, just wondered if anyone knew of a unique winter wedding card box idea...??? Thanks!

| Well the first thing that came to my mind was taking three round hat boxes and painting them like a snowman
Personally, I would probably take one large hat box, paint it icey blue and wrap fur around the top Whatabout finding somehting that looks like giant ice cube, like glass or crystal and using that? Is the theme christmasy at all? You could pull off a santas toy sack, or just a large gift wrapped box Im out of ideas for now, whatare your colors or theme?

We don't have a very strong theme, but we are using snowflakes here and there as a subtle theme just because it's winter. We're not doing anything Christmas because the wedding is Feb.24. Our colours are white, silver and black and our centrepieces are silver metal lanterns with white feather boas & eucalyptus wrapped around them with glass votives. I don't have a pic of the centrepieces yet so it's kind of hard to picture...I do like idea of going with something similar to an ice cube...I'll see where I can get with that, thanks!!

I think the igloo idea is neat, it maybe a bit of work but what about making it out of little cardboard boxes. my aunt made the bottom of a wishing well like that for my parents when they got married and it looked ok i think that might work if you wanted to do it that way.

What an awesome idea bran460, thank you!! I was also thinking of using three round stacked white paper japanese lanterns (one big one at the bottom, then a middle one and then a smaller one on top) to create a snowman silhouette and people could drop their cards in the top hat on the top one and it would be open all the way through to the bottom...but I do like the box idea too, I'll have to attempt it and see how it goes! Thanks again!

Just a thought, I might be completly out of my mind.
What if you cut out a bunch of snowflakes like you used to make when you were a kid (or if you're like me, last year) by folding up paper and cuting out shapes. Then you could paste them all over a dark blue or black box with some over lapping so that they look like a snowstorm. Then you could shelac it or run wallpaper paste over it so it won't come apart and maybe add a wee bit of silver glitter here and there (if you're the glitter type).
Just kindof had a eureka there, hope it helps. I'm a february bride too so I know that it's hard to find wintery stuff

So many awesome ideas, I love the igloo idea, I would go to the craft store and get those tiny cardboard boxes and paint them white and then glue them all together.. or even using that styrophome stuff that somes in balls and cones (you know the stuff) and find small cubes... that might work...
