I look at it this way when it comes to karma. Karma is what you make of it. If you can give an item or a person another chance, then in turn, you will receive good karma for presenting good karma elsewhere.

Absolutely, as one of those brides that has called off a wedding, I don't believe in bad Karma. I'm wearing the gown that I bought for my first "planned" wedding. When someone says to me, "ins't that unlikely?" I say "No way, the dress is lucky-lucky I didn't marry the other guy." It wouldn't bug me to wear "used" ring. I don't really think of it as a personal item. I would think of it like a used car.
