Hey ladies,
I've got a few friends and family members having babies in the next lil while so I'm doing a tonne of baby shopping. What were some of the best gifts you recieved? Some of the worst? One friend specifically is having his second child... for his first I gave him "I'll Love You Forever" and he started to cry. Would love to find something that powerful again... Thanks!

What I loved:
diapers
wipes
baby wash
bigger sized clothes (like 12-18 month diaper shirts and sleepers)
board books
plastic plates and bowls
spoons
things I had registered for (moniter, car seat etc.)
Things I didn't like:
I got too many blankets and recieving blankets...I haven't used half of them and David spit up ALOT.
I got too many 0-3 months size clothes and he grew out of them before he even wore some of them. My friends that have kids already bought me stuff 24 months - 4T sizes and it's great because that stuff I don't have to buy now.
I got about 12 soothers and gave them all away because we didn't use them
My top 5 things that I couldn't live without with a newborn:
1. a bouncy chair that lights up
2. swing!!! We have a folding travel one and took it everywhere!
3. my cuddlywrap
4. breastfeeding pillow
5. red lightbulb for the lamp beside my bed (that way I could have enough light when baby woke up, but not to much to shock us with a bright light)Dh just slept right through me turning on the light.

Thought of something else LOL
Get them film for their camera, or a gift certificate for developing (or printing if they have a digital)
We got a couple 5 packs of film and $150 dollars at blacks, and it was great! WE took SOOOOO many pictures the first month it was unreal!

| I always by clothes whenever I have to buy a baby shower gift... Usually either 12-18 months or 18-24 months. Yesterday I bought my friend the cutest Tigger babseball uniform from Zellars--$30 with a little baseball cap...ahhh! and a pooh sleeper...

Clothes are always good....the one thing I got at my baby shower and loved (and have given to others) is a "medicine cabinet" gift basket. It was filled with all the things you don't think of gripe water, orajel, baby tylenol, bum cream, qtips, medicine soother etc.
