Okay girls...I need an opinion here.....FH and I got engaged at Thanksgiving and we decided on Sept 1/07...we wanted to have a fall wedding with all of the beautiful colors and nice weather and we put alot of thought into deciding on our special day...anyways.....I started a new job in December and my co-worker has been dating her FH for a couple of years...in January they got engaged...no big deal...I had discussed many times with people the day I am getting married and why we are having a longer engagement and so on....she was full aware of it and she is the type of person that is so nosey and has to know what is going on in everybody's life....she always has an agenda and I really am PO'd about what has just transpired today....when she got engaged she talked about oh...I don't know when we are getting married sometime in 2008...we aren't in any hurry....well a couple of weeks ago...she calls my boss at home and asks when my wedding is again...I feel this is weird but hey who am I to judge...well FH's grandma passed away last week and she went back home to Saskatchewan for the week and I hadn't heard anything about this phone call from her...then yesterday she asks when am I taking my holidays next year and when is my wedding...I think this is weird but I begin to tell her again...and that is all she says....then today...well she then informs me that her FH has decided not her that they are getting married Aug 31/07...and since he doesn't want a September wedding because it is not nice out and doesn't want it on the September long weekend like mine...Friday the 31st of August will be the day of their wedding....I was like...what the h**l....she says well her FH really wanted it on that day and she told him that was weird because I am having my wedding the next day...but he soooo insisted on that particular day....boy...was I born yesterday???how the hell is Aug 31 not part of the September long weekend????am I missing something???She then starts to say are you mad??I say well it is kinda weird to be having your wedding the day before mine when FH and I decided like 6 months ago and put alot of thought into it....she is like well that is when he wanted it but are you mad???she kept asking me that and I kept saying well I just think it is weird and she replied well we are having our weddings in 2 different provinces and they aren't on the same day...and I am having a big wedding and her a very small wedding so that should be alright....BOY after her asking me about 10 times if I was mad...I really began to get mad...but then I went on my break and she kept asking my boss if I was mad...and then asked another co-worker if I was mad...and they both replied that I was hurt by it and that picking a wedding day is usually something special for the bride...but that it was weird to have the wedding a day before mine...she was like...but it isn't on the same day...well ladies I was upset...but I am actually laughing about it now...and I have decided that I am not going to tell her anything more about my wedding...I feel that she is just jealous that I have a fantastic FH..and a great job and a great life....so if she wants to be like that so be it...sorry girls for the long note....just venting to anyone that would listen....AAAhhhhh I feel better now....I am just going to let her live in her own little world and I will keep living my great life...
So happy to be married to my best friend....

I agree with you...I gave it alot of thought and I do realize that it is not worth getting all upset at...but at the time it just took me off guard but I do see your point and it won't affect my time off....
So happy to be married to my best friend....

Glad you can laugh about it now..the thing is this.. maybe she feels that your the center of attention and she doesn't like it. Maybe she wants to have everyone all over her.. and really if you think about it..people can be annoying with all the questions after awhile.. let them give her what she wants.. takes the annoying people away from you!

You might be right on what she is thinking....My boss said that as long as I know how important my wedding is to me and I am enjoying planning my wedding with FH that is all that matters...so I will just let her plan her wedding and if she has questions about my wedding I will politely say I have nothing else planned yet....thanks for the advice....

I agree with your boss.. its all about you and your hunny. You don't have to stop telling he about your wedding..just don't tell her everything.. infact you could even be mean about it and tell her things that you aren't doing because its "Oh soo expensive" and " its beautiful but my theme is sharks" or something along those lines.. she will get the hint eventually or she will pipe up and say after a few days that she is doing something along the lines of what you said you would like to do but can't. I wouldn't be surpirsed one bit.. don't take it to heart if she tries the whole 1 up on ya routine! Your very welcome girl.. anytime!!

I love that idea especially about the shark thing....lol....I feel so much better now....and am glad I came on to CB tonight...thanks again for your advice...I appreciate it....
