I am paying for our wedding myself, do I send my parents an RSVP with the invitation? What about the BM, his invite is to the family as well?

Thanks

I'm not sure what paying for the wedding has to do with RSVPs, but I would send rsvps to everyone -- then you can get the card back and keep track.

We sent response invites with response cards to his parents, as well as the whole wedding party, even though we knew they were all coming.  They liked receiving the invites in the mail, and they all sent back the response cards - the response cards are neat - they are like little keepsakes, especially if you have people writing little comments on them like we did.

I understand the budget constraint thing ... it gets us all at some point, but I think for the extra few bucks I would send response cards to them ... I LOVE getting invitations and sending back my reply even to weddings I'm in or closely related to someone.

That being said - you know your guests - how would they feel?

I agree with the others.

Send everyone, including your wedding party and immediate family, a full invitation.

Of course you know they are coming, but often people will call your parents and say "I like XYZ about the invites" and your parents will know exactly what they are talking about.

Also, they might want to keep them for sentimental reasons.

I would give invites with response cards to everyone parents, bridal party etc..

However....

I would hand deliver my invite to my parents and would not expect them to mail their response card back to me. For everyone else ... mail them or hand deliver to the bridal party .... but be sure to include a stamp on their response cards so they can mail them back .. unless you arrange to get them back while visiting with each other.

I sent the parents RSVPs so they could see/keep them but I never gave them stamped return envelopes...I know they are coming so I don't think I need a peice of paper to keep track of them
