When we met with our Reception host, we talked about the money box issue.. They have one and we can make one as well.. here's the great idea in conjunction with that.
Our Reception hall recommended that, Since our hall is 1 block from a bank with a night deposit box, that after we collect all the envelopes (twice in the night for our wedding), that we use the bank, they will give us a night deposit bag(s) and we can have our parents or best man drop it off into the night deposit box. This way our money gifts are secure, and we can pick them up the next day or when you come back from your honeymoon or what ever. You don't have to worry about leaving the money in the car, or taking it home , or using the hall's safe. If you already have an account with that bank (not necessarily that branch) they will set it up for you with no hassle, and sometimes no charge because it's a one day thing.
btw.. hall safes are a no no, because a lot of turnover in these halls, means that many people know the combos of the safes in the industry.. It's like that in Hamilton.
Let me know what you all think.

My In-laws were suggesting that very same thing a few days ago! But 1 question do you just pick it up after the wedding and all the envelopes are sealed, or do you just have to put the money in???

I believe you pick it up after the wedding and all the envelopes are sealed. Apparently you get a key. FH was trying to explain it to me, but I believe I was tired that day. not paying too much attention

Thanks Bella, cause if someone had to count it all out and write it down they would probably miss a good chunk of my wedding night; and that is not cool! lol

Oh no! I was planning on using the hall safe...hmmm I'll have to check into the bank option. Or actually FH lives pretty close to the hall someone can drop if off at his place. Thanks for the warning about the safe!
