Alright... Here's the problem: My left knee has been hurting for some time now (due to a foot problem), I thought I would be able to deal with it, not stress it too badly.  Now it cracks everytime I'm walking.  Yay me.  My left wrist has just recently (today actually) started to give me problems.  It really irritating and I can't seem to figure out what it is.  Now the latest was when I turned in my chair.  My neck feels like it has something stuck in it.  I realize that work is stressful, but I've never hurt like this.  If I can figure out a way to 'relax' or 'fix' these problems without a doctor, it would be great.  I'm not a big fan of doctors.

I thought it might be a calcium problem, but I don't think it is.  Can someone help me out?  Does anyone else have these problems?

hmmm...i'll try not to take the "i'm not a fan of doctors" too personally.  heck, i don't like going to the doctor myself.

unfortunately, without more info on your symptoms and without even doing a proper physicial you won't get much of a definitive answer.

your doc will need to know when and where the pain started, when it occurs during the day, what makes it worse/better, uni versus bilateral, recent trauma history etc etc.

you are right about the calcium part - joints are more afflicted with degererative or inflammatory processes.

i will speculate, given common things being common, that your treatment (not cure) may involve meds (anti-inflammatories) and / or physio.  this is mere speculation.

anyways, i hope you can get your pains resolved soon.

Not sure what the issue is with the knee .... as you said, it could stem from the foot issue, but it could also be arthritis setting in and it's painful.  Now, I'm not 100% sure, I'd have to ask FH when he gets home, but I think the cracking sound you are hearing is more of bone rubbing on bone ... you may have worn the cartilage out between the bones .. you'd need to see a doctor about this as well, at the very least, for some meds to help with the joint pain.

as for the wrist - could it be carpal tunnel from continuous data entry?  I had it before and went to see a doctor .. 1 shot of cortizone into the area fixed it right up along with the "tennis elbow" I had.

As for your neck, you have been stressed and this can contribute to a stiff neck. You also do alot of data entry, so if you are in one position for extended periods of time .. it can contribute to neck pain/stiff neck etc. Again, I'd have to ask FH when he gets home from work later tonight.

I'll see what he has to say, and let ya know what he recommends.  You may need a really good full body massage ( from the top of your head right down to your toes ... hands and legs too, etc)

I'll ask him tonight and post his  thoughts!

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.

Making the decision to have a child-it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom.

To understand a mother's love, bear your own children.

Mother is the name for God on the lips& in the hearts of little children.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

Mrs. M and loving it!!!

thanks for the laugh!!
It looks like I'll be going to the doctor.  I've been having more pains in my leg and I don't really like them too much.  I've never been a fan of doctors, but after reading your responses, I'm going to have to suck it up and go.  MrsM, I think the wrist thing might be from continuously typing at work.  Even if it is on CB   Sorry if I offended you there Slakie.. AND I AM NOT OLD...
