we are using aint going down till the sun comes up by garth brookes...fh is an amazing line dancer so we are doing a very simple line dance to that song...HAHAHA...we just wanted to liven things up a little and move away from the traditional slow dance!

I always hated to do this when I was a BM,so for my wedding, we're doing something else: a dance off!

We are having three judges: my uncle (also the priest), and two other impartial people. We're not sure exactly who though.

We are getting my girlfriend to do a mix of popular songs and having the bridal party dance to them. Songs will be most likely the choruses, about 20 - 30 seconds long, and just fade into each other.

There will be a man and woman winner and they will receive a free round of golf and a $50 gift certificate to a spa or salon.

Some songs:

The Twist
YMCA
The Chicken Dance
Macarena

And to throw some culture in there...

The Red River Jog
some pow-wow music (to round dance to)

and then go onto some more modern ones...

a basic country two step (not sure which song yet)
Soldja Boy - Crank That (have to know that crazy dance)

And we will be ending on something by CCR/John Fogerty - so we can do the Beauval Shuffle.

There will be about 8 - 15 songs, and if you don't know the dance, off the floor. We are sending out the dance styles to the bridal party, so they know what's going to happen, and it is up to them to practice if they want to win. For the quests, it'll be a surprise. Kind of Canadian Idol style. That way, no one has to dance chest to chest with people they don't even know. It's a fun alternative.

I'm not positive since I haven't talked to any of my bridal party about it yet, or planned it out muc, but I have been thinking about doing something choreographed to 1234 by Feist, like at the beginning start like we are all going to just boring slow dance, then when it starts to pick up all the girls get spun at the same time and then it would go from there. I think it would be really fun for us and for the rest of the guests.

I really want to do "A little help from my friends" - but not the original Beatles version, but the one from the Across the Universe soundtrack. I heart it!
