| Just wanted to see what your opinions were regarding throwing your own bachelorette party. My MOH is throwing my shower but doubt she will do the bachelorette also. So, i was going to do it myself. I figure I would just do all the inviting of people and plan the evening...(as in location). I just basically want to get my friends together and go out and have a great time. Showers are good but my grandmother will be there...can't really let loose there. So I figure this would be the best way to do it... What do you think? Jaylee

I think it would be fine, but it might be best to call it a 'girls night out' instead of labelling it a bachlorette party. I would likely do teh same if my MOH wasn't planning something awesome!
You can call me 'Mommy Dearest'!! Started my Happily ever After June 10 2006 Mommy to Molli & Tessa *Caution* Contents may become heated under suggestive statements

I would first check with your MOH to make sure she's not planning one. I'd be furious if the bride took over after I'd been planning something special. I think tho, if you did just call it a Girls Night Out, even if your MOH plans one you get what you want without the guise of it being you throwing your own Bachlorette!

| I say go for it!! I planned my own bridal shower AND stagette party...mainly because my MOH doesn't give a sh!t (but that's a long story, i won't get into it) It's not wrong at all...sometimes you just have to take iniative (sp?) for what you really want!...IMHO

| Go for it! I went to one recently with two brides that got together and had a joint one. It was loads of fun and who cares? You are right, just a night on the town for the ladies and trust me, once you organize a group of women, I am sure that you will end up with a silly veil and garter to wear out that night too. What about other BMs? Why don't you drop a hint to them that you would like to have a girls weekend and then head out for a night calling it your party? JJF
