Our wedding is a month away but we received two gifts this week... I want to send out pictures of us with the thank-yous, so I'm not sure whether to send a card now or wait.

Also, one of the gifts is a cheque - do I cash it now or wait until after the wedding?

I would send a thank you, since etiquete wise you should send it within the month of recieving the present.  I don't know about a cheque, I would wait until after the wedding, since you never know what might happen right?  Not wishing you bad omens or anything like that, I'm just saying, natural disasters have to happen, and it is during someone's wedding, right?

I would write it out now, to save myself from having to write them all at once, and mail it after the wedding with the rest of the thank yous. I would also hold off on cashing the cheque until after the wedding.

Etiquette says you open gifts you recieve early when they arrive. You would also then send the thank you early. After the wedding you would likely send them another thank you for attending the wedding itself and sharing in your special day.

I received one gift early.  I wrote a thank you card immediately, but it was just a normal Hallmark thank you card.  I told them that I'd be waiting until FH arrived to open the gift, but I wanted them to know that it was received.  After the wedding, I sent them a proper thank you card with our photo.  What's one more stamp and 5 minutes of your time?  If the gift was hand delivered, and there was no doubt that it was received, you could probably hold off on sending the card until after the wedding, but if it was me, I'd send one now anyway.
