i will give you a little background to my predicament and then i ask that you PLEASE help me out...

At first me and FH were going to have a reception in toronto... well actually it was in Bolton.  anyway we bought a house and now we are finding it very difficult to havea  200person wedding as the costs are really high... the wedding is set for next year and me and FH cant even discuss bookings and so on because we are afraid of the costs...  anyway finally i brought up the idea of having a DW to my family and him.  they were all a little hesitant (quite frankly so am i) but were warming up to it.  my family has always been a very big wedding kinda family, so i would be the first one to ever have a DW.  i just want it to be REALLY nice.  i was thinking of Cabo Mexico, but i need to know what kind of budget i would be looking at.  if anyone has any kind of advice to give me regarding locationa dn price and so on, i would REALLY appreciate it... thank you so much and i hope to get some responses.  im really nervous!!!

Hi! Welcome to the world of wedding planning!!! You're going to have soooo much fun, and you are going to become soooo addicted to these boards...every member here has...you can find so many ideas here, and ladies, like diamondess, will always have a suggestion or idea for you...

But to answer your question, a couple brides on here are actually having a dw in Los Cabos, and in the summer, you are probably looking at about $1700-$2000 for flight/hotel...plus all your wedding expenses down there. Los Cabos is more of a tourist destination, so it will tend to be more pricy then another part of Mexico, like Puerto Vallarta, where we are having our dw in July 2007. By the way, when are you planning it for anyway??? Other months of the year will generally be less expensive, depending on when you decide to go. Summer can be more expensive, as well as Spring months (cuz of Spring Break, etc..) But if you decide to do it in the fall or somewhere around winter, then it will most likely be less expensive.  Also it is advisable, depending on when you're planning it for next year, that you book, if you can, right away..the more closer you book to your travel date, the more expensive it will be. And depending on how many people come with you to Mexico, you can get a group rate or a wedding rate (I believe they are the same thing). Most hotels also have their own wedding coordinator that the couple can use, and usually it's complimentary if you stay at that hotel. They help you with everything...flowers, ceremony/reception decor, cake, etc., etc...
