My DD name is Montana.... not too common.  And after FH and I get married we are going to try for another, and if its a girl it will be Carolina and if its a boy it will be Lincoln (so we can call him Link). When I was preggos with Montana if she was a boy her name was going to be Pheonix.  Everyone laughs at me and asks me if I look at an Atlas and not a baby name book!

I LOVE names, and I always have. I've always wanted to give my children unique names, not a name that four or five other children in their class will also have. As FH is Welsh, we have decided to use welsh names for our children. For girls, we like Anwen, Ariene, Seren, Bronwyn, and Rhiannon. For boys, we like Garreth. FH also likes Owyn (welsh Owen), but it is WAY too common here.
Since his family is welsh, there are a lot of uncommon names on FH's side, such as Hywel, Bethan, Gerwyn, Angharad, Seren, Eira, and Gwenllian. They're uncommon names here in Canada, but they may not be so uncommon on Wales (though I can't be sure of this). A lot of welsh names are not pronounced how they are spelled. For example, Hywel (FH's father) is pronounced Hue-ull (he gets a lot of mispronunciations with his name, like Hugel, Hymez, etc... lol!). We picked welsh names that are pronounced as they are spelled so our kids wouldn't have a hard time with them but could still have a name with some heritage behind it.
