Sorry to hear about your troubles. I would agree that Mother's Day isn't the best day to have a bridal shower-especially cuz it's usually women at a shower, and it's women who are celebrated on mother's day! Are there any other options? Have the invites gone out yet? What about doing it the day prior?

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.
Making the decision to have a child-it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom.
To understand a mother's love, bear your own children.
Mother is the name for God on the lips& in the hearts of little children.
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

| It certainly is not the best picked day to have your shower, I completely understand why alot of your friends can't make it....... Mother's Day is about our Mother's - not Bride's, regardless of your timeline.......sorry it sounds very harsh, but it's a day that has been allotted for "Mom" for years, so even when the day was picked the calendar already said Mother's Day. There must be a better day that a shower can be held?

| Is there any way it can be held on the Saturday? That is what my friends are doing to accomodate the timing for my shower...

Yup... the girls are having mine on a Saturday. The women come at 3:00 for snacks, drinks and gifts, and the guys are coming later for a BBQ and PARTY!! I can't WAIT! There is nothing wrong with having it on a Saturday...

| Although it's not tradition for most Europeans to hold the shower on a Saturday, my good friend did, and there were no problem. It turned out great. That's a much better option than mother's day.
