In speaking with my FMIL, we were discussing how our ceremony and reception locations are about 20-25 minutes apart. She asked if we were setting up an appitizer/drink session in between (while we get our pics taken) at the reception location.
We didn't budget something for this and we don't really want people at the reception location for that length of time "unsupervised" (for a lack of better words).
I have been to numerous wedding where its up to the guests to "amuse themselves" in between the ceremony and reception.
Is there anything wrong with this?

People can amuse themselves all they want really... you don't have to have anything set up.. most people will go for coffee or a small bite to eat or something...

I am not providing anything in between either. My parents may have people back to their house for finger foods but nothing is for sure yet.

I agree people can amuse themselves.  I have been to weddings where close family and friends go back to the brides (or grooms) parents homes for a light bite to eat. But if its not in the budget, I wouldnt worry about it.

Not worried at all. I feel as though what my guests do between the church and the hall is not my problem.

We do not have anything planned for inbetween. Our reception venue opens immediately following the ceremony so that people can go there and have some drinks if they want.
