| Hello to you all on this Fabulous Friday Morning! MY FH has been dealing with sporatic stomache cramps for the past couple of years now. He gets to the point that he is in so much pain, he just hunches over and can't move. I have had to take him to the hospital, it gets so bad. They happen, maybe every 4 to 5 months, and the pain can last from 4 hours to a full 24 hours. None of the doctors can tell him anything. They say that he doesn't have the symptoms if IBS or an intolerance to gluten. He had our family doctor recommend him to a gastrokjsdklfjlskdjflkist, and even he couldn't help. He has had x-rays, blood work, ultrasound and an MRI - all showing "nothing". We haven't seem to link it to anything that he eats either. And I know that he is not faking it, cause I just know him. So, we are to the point where we want to pursue other options, besides western medicine. For those of you who have gone to a naturopathic doctor, what is is like? Could they help my FH? And how do I find a good one? We are in Edmonton. Thanks so much!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I found a few listed in Edmonton, so now it's just deciding on who to see.

Sorry I am not in edmonton so I can't help you decide but I see a naturopath/chiropractor/homoeopathist/acupuncturist (I guess he got bored and kept going back to school) anyways he's great. I've been to him on and off since I was a small child. When I was about 8 I got sick all the time and the doctor kept giving me antibiotics for it. Turns out I was allergic to milk and the doctor had no clue. I've had a skin condition (atopic eczema) for a long time and the doctor gave me cortazone! wow big mistake! My skin got addicted to it and made it severely worse. Nothing the Dermatologist did helped. But the naturopath fixed it. He also changed my diet so I no longer need my thyroid meds (hypothyroidism), though my doctor still monitors me closely for this. So now I sleep with normal regularity, I have energy, I feel healthy and I rarely get sick (can't even remember the last time I was sick but am sure it was at least a few years ago) and I owe it all to my naturopath.

| Hi Khoshka, My MOH goes to an accupuncturist in St. Albert. I'll e-mail her and ask her his name for you. She swears by him! And I admire your choice to go naturopathic... I'm in the process myself and I find I've never felt better... I'll try and get his name ASAP for you guys.

| I have an appointment by a recommendation of a co-worker... but she used to practice in a wholistic healing clinic so I actually just talk with her a lot to get advice and direction. It's great! I'm on a waiting list to see this doctor (God forbid I remember who) and my appointment is not until sometime late July. I left a message for my MOH but she warned me she was busy with work this week and therefore I may not hear from her for a bit... but I'm still gonna ask!
