| Our dj is being served dinner with us and is pretty pricey to begin with but I am not sure what the norm is for dj service, do you still tip him because he/she is providing a service? I have also heard, if he is the business owner you do not tip, just curious on what is appropriate. Thanks

| our DJ runs his own business, was very moderately priced, returned e-mails promptly, did everything we asked and our guests loved him. he had the dance floor packed all night and a year later people still make comments about what a good job he did and how much fun they had dancing. we tipped him. it was a personal choice. i think if you love your DJ and he's fantastic, then if you want to, tip him regardless if he's the owner or not. a small bonus for doing a better than expected job is always nice IMO. it's up to you though. i probably wouldn't feel obligated to tip.
