Hi!

I was just wondering if anyone is planning on having welcome baskets/bags for their guests?  Also, does anyone have any really original ideas about what to put in them?

We were thinking of doing this but then we realized that it would take up precious luggage space I really like the idea but depending on what you end up getting and how many people you need to get stuff for it may take up quite a large portion of your luggage. Some things that you may want to put into the bags could be suntan lotion, perhaps a blow up beachball or something fun like that, mugs for holding drinks, a camera (the waterproof ones would be really cool). That is all I can think of right now but if I come up with anymore I'll let you know.

So far we are doing map/restaurant guides, sunscreen, personalized M&Ms, key lime cookies (getting married in Florida), Florida jellies, bottles of water, a travel candle and personalized matches...I'd love a few more fun ideas.

For the attendants, we are getting the girls mongrammed beach bags from LL Bean and the guys fun towels.

Most of the stuff is being shipped to the destination - ordered and delivered to the wedding co-ordinator or picked up there. The lack of luggage thing is a pain!!!!!

yup we will be doing this... haven't really decided what to put in them right now. I am going to try and make the bags myself, I know how to sew and stuff sooo Im going to attempt it. I think we are putting together a welcome package that includes information about the area, all the sites to see (mayan riveria), timeline, who is in the wedding party, then have some little things like aloe vera, lip balm w/spf 15, yummy food... i dunno yet....  i was thinking of going a couple of days before everyone else and do my shopping while there to help with the luggage.... plus its more unique and different then bringing down canadian stuff (not that there is anything wrong with that its just we are in mexico and why not have mexican stuff)

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.

Making the decision to have a child-it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom.

To understand a mother's love, bear your own children.

Mother is the name for God on the lips& in the hearts of little children.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

Mrs. M and loving it!!!
