I did a search to see if this topic had been covered and didn't see anything so I hope I'm not repeating!  I was wondering how much people were paying for their djs...and for how long that price booked them for that evening?  I have a quote from a dj who is one of my bm's brother and I'm really not sure if it's a standard rate, undercharging, etc....?  Thanks!

I think mine is costing me $300 for 6 hrs of music (dinner music to the end of the dance around 1am)

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.

Making the decision to have a child-it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.

The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom.

To understand a mother's love, bear your own children.

Mother is the name for God on the lips & in the hearts of little children.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

ours was 450$ and that included set up, playing throughout dinner and all night until 1am.  he doesn't charge overtime though if the party goes on after 1:00 so that was a nice bonus.  that also included his light show too.  i think we got a pretty good deal for that area.  the other DJ's we looked into were all around the 650-900$ range.

We just switched out DJ.  Originally we had one that I really liked booked for $575.  I called him to answer questions like how long we have him for and taxes but he didn't return my phone calls so I left a message and cancelled him.

We ended up going with a guy that is charging us $410 for dinner music and a four hour dance.  For an extra $65, he will come to the church and do any music we would want there.  What I like about our new DJ is that he does not charge if the dance goes late.  On the other hand, if the dance is done an hour early he leaves.

Awww.. I guess I was ripped off.

We are paying 1365.00 for our Dj.  We do have a DJ and an MC.  But sounds like I was ripped off.  We are going with Sound Sensations.  Anyone heard of them or used them?
