Xaria: That's nothing. FH was asking his own BROTHER to be the best man and it took him longer than 2 months to ask, try almost 6 months!!!! Now my dilemma is getting ahold of the last groomsman to ask if he knows if he'll be able to attend and that is proving to be a really big pain in the arse!

This weekend for me was another dud...the only wedding things I got accomplished was my shoes and some additional table cloths that we were short on....sounds like everyone had good weekends.

Congrats on the shower and stag/doe...sounds like fun.  Hope we can see pics soon.  Happy Canada Day Sept brides.

Xaria, winners for a cardbox is SUCH a good idea.. never even thought of that! How are you cutting the hole in the top? I will have to stop by this week and see what they have available in my area. We were thinking about renting a card box from this party shop which is $25 so I always have that to fall back on.

My weekend was also pretty dead for wedding planning. I picked up all my accessories from the bridal shop (jewelry, veil, and a lace shrug) Everything looks amazing and I cant wait for my first fitting! (Which is next Tuesday, the 7th) I will post pictures of course haha. I really really need to finish the rest of our invitations and get them in the mail, time is ticking!!! Unfortunately I wo'nt be getting anything done today because I have to work Grrr.... any other suckers on here stuck working today??? I mailed all the invitations for FH's side because they live really far away, and I actually already received 1 response card back, yay!! That was last week and I haven't received anymore but I've got all my fingers crossed for more this week!

Oh, I also tried ordering some spanx.... extremely disappointed for those of you thinking about it, I put a post in health and beauty.

Okay off to get ready for work.... Happy Canada Day to all the beautiful brides!

I found a lovely rattan box that had a lid.  I am not going to cut a hole in it.  I guess I could remove the handle and cut a hole there but I am not going to bother.  The good part was the box cost me $13.  There were other boxes similar to hat boxes made out of hard paper.  They would work if you wanted to cut a hole for the cards and could be staked together.

Since my wedding and reception are at the same location, I figure I can get a family member to empty the box shortly after the reception starts and that should be okay.

wow. you girls are having showers and stag 'n doe's already.. that's awesome for you guys tho!! Sounds like you had a blast.

I went to a wedding on the weekend, the bride is a friend of FH's and has become a friend of mine as well.  OMG.. I got teary eyed at the sight of her. LOL. and during the reception FH and I both got teary eyed.  It just made everything SO REAL.  "that will be us in 3 months"... and we can actually picture everything that much more now. LOL.  Plus everyone kept saying "you guys are next!!" to us all day.  It really was a lot of fun.  They had an evening wedding with an informal "party" type reception at a lodge and it was a lot of fun.  I'm so looking forward to our wedding (even more now). heheh.
